And their lineup just doesn't scare me at all

Same lineup that led the majors in runs last year.  However they are relying on Judge to be Babe Ruth version of Judge again at age 34 and for Jazz and Grisham to replicate career best seasons.

Basically every worthwhile remaining FA is a pitcher. By projected WAR the top 13 left standing are SP.

Gallen and Bassitt through Corbin and Mikolas.

Red Sox To Acquire Caleb Durbin

By Steve Adams | February 9, 2026 at 8:26am CDT

The Red Sox are acquiring infielder Caleb Durbin from the Brewers, reports Jeff Passan of ESPN. Milwaukee receives a three-player package including lefties Kyle Harrison and Shane Drohan as well as infielder David Hamilton, Passan adds. Boston is also picking up infielder Andruw Monasterio, catcher/infielder Anthony Seigler and a Competitive Balance Round B pick, per Will Sammon of The Athletic.

Weird trade!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lots of signing and news last couple of days!

  • Lindor needs hamate surgery
  • Verlander to Detroit

Reports say Lindor will be back for opening day - but we know hamate surgery often zaps your power initially.

Verlander remains 34 wins away from 300 and reports say he wants to pitch long enough to get to 300.  Will he be able to?  The last 2 years have not been kind to him from a W-L perspective.  Guy is a legend - I think it's cool to see him back in Detroit.  Looks like they'll be a fun team this year.

Santander out 5-6 months.  Having Labrum surgery.  Bowden out for the season with UCL reconstruction.  It sounds like neither surgery has happened yet in which case I hope someone asks why the delay?

Kinda matters when each injury was detected.

One thing about surgeons, they will never cut a dude open unless either a) the injury is so bad there's no chance of rehabbing it, or b) all that rehab was done and failed.

He (Francis) was out last season with shoulder impingement so, hard to say when this popped up.

Verlander was actually pretty good last season: 152 innings, 3.85 ERA/3.85 FIP and 2.2 WAR.

Much better than Mad Max.

100% - just no luck in the win column unfortunately.  With Olson out - he'll get lots of starts for a very good Detroit team this year.  Rooting for him (unless he's playing TO)

Just saw that Reese Olson will miss the entire season. I guess that explains the Verlander signing

Sawyer Gibson-Long should be ready also.

Pitchers are on a warpath early in ST, everyone is getting it on the hands

Nah, they usually break on check swings, hah!

Bassit to the Orioles feels weird.

Oh vomit.

$18.5M on a 1 year deal for Bassitt - good coin for him, but you just know he's going to be dealin' when he faces us.
