He played the second half with a cracked forearm, he gets a mulligan on that, he's a decent player at that money.

Does a cracked forearm reduce sprint speed somehow?

I think more low budget teams should make trades as the Pale-Sox did yesterday on taking on a salary dump from the Bosox, see if you can get Hicks back on track and he becomes value while upgrading your farm with Sandlin, I think it was tidy business.

Not sure does it?

I think my overall point in the Wilson signing is, right now he's the exact type of guy that doesn't typically get paid in arbitration, so why not just go year to year with him?

It's not a bad extension by any means, it just seems unnecessary. He's a below average runner and defender at SS, with bottom of the barrel EVs even when healthy. That's not really a recipe for even average power outputs.

Yeah, I got your point the first time around big guy, it's why I shared that clip that the author mentions an Arraez comp but he thinks he has more power than initially thought, kid's just 23 and projects for 3.4 fWAR.

Either way it's a 2 way street, as you said Wilson gets his bag and the A's are fishing for value from a MIF, the A's have been doing a superb job locking up a lot of their young guys to this point, they've been doing a great job, I applaud this deal for both sides.

Brendan Donovan: Impact Bat

He'll hit like 8 home runs playing half his time in that park

I hope Santander never lets his agent pay for dinner again in his life. After what Geno got it’s crazy what he got last year,

  • Jurrangelo is the switch-pitcher who has made some Top 100 lists.
  • Tai Peete is a power-hitting CF prospect with high boom/bust potential.
  • And then Williamson who is an elite glove 3B that can't really hit.

50 FV, 40+ FV, 40 FV for two years of Donovan seems like an overpay by the M's.*

*If the Jays made a similar deal I probably would have praised the move as a heist

Woohoo another year at 2nd base for me, hah!

According to MLB Network just now they have reports that Arraez turned down "multiple" multi-year offers from other teams who would not guarantee he could play second base.

3 years younger and makes less AAV than Suarez?

Yeah figured Suarez would have to settle for only a one-year deal, especially at this point. Great value for a guy who has pretty much averaged 3-4 WAR per season.

Would have been a nice fit on the Jays, but 3B and DH overcrowded already with Okamoto/Santander/Springer.

And? They're very similar hitters guy, Geno's DHing and periodically playing the corners is what was reported yesterday. Again, Santander is 3 years younger.

No worries.

Thanks again for the breaking news alerts on your fantasy baseball team whenever a player signs or gets traded. I’ll alert ESPN.

Yeah if Suarez was entering his age 30 season like Taters was when he signed his deal, the terms for Suarez's deal would look a lot different.

4 years younger if you factor WHEN Santander was signed too.

Im a big Suarez fan, but he’s getting up there in age and there’s been questions about the defense lately.

Suarez got slightly underpaid and Santander slightly overpaid. Its not that shocking

Right and 3 yrs left on the contract unless it vests in '28, they're very similar guys right now was my point to him and younger. I'm on team healthy Santander will make an impact this season. Not to mention Suarez market obviously cratered this offseason. Has nothing to do with the market when Santander signed for and we got him for far less than he was projected, John will whiff again this year and bat a 1.000 3 years straight. Hahaha
