Im hoping Ricky T becomes an option for us this year ... workload will be a concern Gage Stanifer finished at AA and if he continues to strike guys out at a ridiculous 14k/9 IP pace maybe he becomes a late season option like Yesavage Hoping Francis can rebound too and be a dependable #6 guy, long arm We have some potential in the wings! Bloss's stuff has not always been as good as it seems or as the scouting reports seem to indicate. During his Astros MLB sample the grades on ALL of his pitches were a bit below average by Stuff+. I think some other Stuff measurements did have the FB as a bit above average. His velo seemed to be up noticeably with Toronto in spring but he then got nuked in AAA and hurt. I think you can tell from his lack of minor league Ks at the upper levels, and getting hit around in MLB and AAA, that the Stuff needed lots of work. I think if he comes back from TJS and his pitches are more like his 2024 Astros versions, he's just a boring SP5, almost like Mitch White before he collapsed as a player. Low upside depth guy who might be able to finesse his way into bulk value. Never a playoff starter. If he comes back from TJS and the arsenal is a bit better (like it looked in spring) then there might be a more interesting pitcher there, maybe an SP4. Brownie19 and max silver 2

He was the third starter in the World Series. Pitched critical games 3 and 7 which were both losses. Did not go 5 innings in either one. On the other hand wasn't horrible. Left both games with the lead I believe. In an ideal world want a better closer, better third starter and better second hitter. Doesn't mean Max Scherzer, Jeff Hoffman or Nathan Lukes can't be part of a world series team, just that maybe really crazy to give them so high a percentage of the most critical innings and at bats in a generation.

Likely just sticks in AAA most of the year covering all over the infield. Unlikely we see him unless we suffer multiple 60 day IL stints.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 Jimenez is out of options, Orelvis is gone, Kasevich was unprotected (rule 5 eligible), and Bichette is a FA. They don't really have much infield depth at the moment, especially on the 40 man roster. I think they'll end up holding on to Jimenez because it doesn't make sense to allocate dollars towards an IKF level player to sit on the bench when Jimenez is probably just as good (if not better....can't be any worse). Either way they probably need some bodies in AAA in case of need. Spanky__99, Orgfiller and Brownie19 3

The only scenario where Marte makes sense at all is if Bo doesn’t resign. Feels like this would be something they check in on after Bo leaves.

Governator Community Moderator Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 Blue Jays would be dumb not to check on every mid infielder and their perceived value and other back up options, no different than Bo checking in with all clubs to get his value. Spanky__99 1

glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 There are at least a million people on earth who I'd trust before Trollosi when it comes to baseball rumors (and I'm rounding down), but Marte would be an incredible add. No issues trading for him and moving on from Bo if that's what they ended up doing. His contract runs a bit too long (age 36-37), but the hitting profile seems like one that could age a bit more gracefully.

Though maybe it's something the Jays look at in January once all the other top FA arms are off the market, not right now. I would be open to Verlander as the #4/5 starter at that price. As a last resort maybe, If rather spend money on long term starter. Both Bieber and Gausman are up next year

Seems very unlikely we could just send back a pure prospects package, at least while still retaining some semblance of a farm system after the fact. The offense would be unreal with both Marte and Bo, but realistically you wouldn't retain Bo if you acquired Marte. Probably use the savings on a top tier SP or maybe go all-in for Tucker.
