    He was putting up good numbers in AAA this year, so they probably thought it was worth the gamble. I think they are just desperate for a rh batting middle inflielder and have nothing to lose.

    Arraez has actually provided passable D at 2B this year. I don't know if that will continue. But that would allow Clement to play SS some games for Gimenez when they are going up against a lefty.

    The COF spots will be crowded. Sanchez, Barger, Lukes. Pinango. One too many if Varsho returns to CF and Santander DHs. Never too late to make Straw a utility infielder I guess.😉

    Straw makes sense because he is a freak. Has Valenzuela played anything outside of catcher? Still perplexed that Clement cannot seem to play 2b. Edit: I forgot that Straw played some games at SS and 2B for the Astros in 2019 and 2020.

    The lack of RH outfielders in the minor is also astonishing. They are like unicorns now. At least Nimmela and Kasevich are RH, so there is that.
