hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 If he Dodgers hit like they can Straw in RF will not hurt
keggy Verified Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Really don't love asking Bo to worry about getting his timing back and not explode his knee while also playing out of position. You could literally have the identical lineup with Schneider at 2nd. Giving the medical staff and FO the benefit of the doubt here since most of their moves have worked this year.

However, if we are going to split the games at home you definitely want to win game 2. The most important game to win is game 3. I remember in 92 we lost game 1 but won game 2 and had the momentum. Looking back, very glad it happened that way. 93 we won game 1 but lost game 2. We won game 3. Moral of the story. Assuming we are going to have some losses, would rather see them game 1 then 2 and game 4 or 5 vs 3.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Love that they have the balls to do this They are gonna have to take some chances to beat the Dodgers and this shows they’re willing to do it G-Snarls and Waylanderz 2

Plus he has a bum knee. Bo might actually be a decent 2B because it's freaking second base. You aren't going to beat the Dodgers with IKF as a starter or with multiple bad defensive positions G-Snarls 1
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 The Jays started IKF for 4 straight ALCS games when they were trailing in the series, so for them to actually put Bo at 2B means that they think he can handle it defensively. The one thing they generally don't do is mess around with defense. They value it more than any team in the league. Curious to see how Bo looks. The Jays don't have any heavy GB pitchers, so it hopefully won't be too big of an issue. Although it's baseball, so Bo having to field many of the balls in play could easily happen anyway. Regardless, if the Jays want a shot at beating the Dodgers, then they need Bichette in the lineup. Let's see what happens. Excited to watch this one. Waylanderz and L54 2

There’s a reason why tweener guys like Schneider end up as 2B/LF … because they’re the two easiest positions on the field All the worry about Bo playing on the right side is overblown I hope he looks good physically. All the video I’ve seen of him doesn’t convince me. But how do you say no to him in this spot
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Bo's bat vs IKF bat is really not even a conversation worth having. I don't care if he's out there with a wooden stump for a leg. Governator, Waylanderz, Spanky__99 and 1 other 4

Super curious to see how he looks Im rolling with him either way but I hope he can at least go 1st to 3rd or score from second etc ..

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 I have waited for Bo at 2B since 2020... cant believe its happening in the World Series but im super excited for the lineup. Just imagine if Santandar wasn't so useless this year.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Bo playing second base is wild. I can't believe they're taking that chance. I'd rather Springer in the outfield. I know he's got an ouchie on his kneecap but still, I'll take that. Nor do I believe that playing a few games in the outfield will suddenly make Springer a terrible hitter like some people do. I really hope they know what they're doing, this feels like a really risky idea.

Laika Community Moderator Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 @enosarris Every Blue Jay swung harder in the second half other than Andrés Giménez, who is swinging harder in the playoffs than he did in the second half. It's nice to start with bat-to-ball and add intent like that.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Breaking News - the entire Jays team has been suspended for 2026 for PEDs lol. Waylanderz 1
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 They are swinging harder With A-Swing intentions And striking out less than everyone else what more could you want?
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 The Blue Jays are a perfect team.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Bo can get a full leg replacement after 7 games for all I care as long as he fights through the pain and contributes both defensively and offensively. That's a big addition. Omar 1
sliderguy35 Verified Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 part of me wonders if bo playing 2nd is specifically because yesavage is on the bump today. yesavage is a guy who generates a ton of whiffs & batted balls to the left side of the diamond so the 2nd baseman has less defensive responsibility when he starts (generally, this is still baseball & anything can happen) here's yesavage's batted ball spray chart for the regular / postseason. here's the same spray chart for his triple A starts wouldnt be surprised if we get bo @ DH later in the series with a different starter Spanky__99 and Buster 2
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Straw better contribute with the bat... Having even one dead spot in the line-up is huge... Rivas KILLED the Mariners and couldn't even make a productive out. Even as a Jays fan I was like WTF is he doing in your line-up and don't you have anyone better..? Edit to add. I have been in Seattle all week (Still stuck here due to the Alaska IT outage) and I asked a lot of Mariners fans the same thing about their black holes in the 8-9 spots... Omar 1
SeranthonySantander Verified Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Yea we only need Bo to survive up until end of this month. If he ends up damaged goods and helps bring a World Series I don’t know what to say, maybe a nice “thanks but goodbye” card and lifetime cell plan and cable TV
