GoBlue41 Verified Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Is it game time yet? Man, this wait is a killer. Seems like nobody is giving the Jays a chance, but I've learned to never doubt this team. LFG! Of course I can't wait to see Bo play, but I'm really interested to see how the manager incorporates Barger and Lukes into the game. Those are two good hitters who can come in during key spots and do damage against bullpen righties. Spanky__99 1
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 I like having Straw in the lineup. He's been solid all season and it leaves Barger and Lukes for select pinch hit opportunities against a bullpen that doesn't have their top 2 lefties. Kordesi and G-Snarls 2
SeranthonySantander Verified Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 I like that they (dodger fans) can’t pin an asterisk on this loss with vesia out. Because we are missing our best slugger, Anthony Santander. Now we are even. Get well soon Mr and Mrs Vesia.
infinitebook Verified Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 The big thing I think for the Jays is not striking out. Snell gives up a ton of ground balls, but ground balls at least have a chance of squeaking through, expecially on the fast skydome turf. But perhaps most importantly is forcing someone other than Snell or Sasaki to pitch, and doing damage when they do.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Babe is doing some damage today Omar and Waylanderz 2

The velocity is impressive, but he still isn't striking anyone out. infinitebook 1

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 eager to see how Bo handles the pivot and the foot work at second - probably more stress on his knee at 2nd vs ss

Doubleplay21 Verified Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Rodríguez did not make the roster due to poor appearances neither did Nance. But Little who throws in the dirt 2 out of 3 pitches still makes the roster ??

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 I don't think Springer staying at DH has anything to do with the knee. I think he's got some other injury (likely in the arm) and they don't want him having to throw the ball.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Alex Vesia most likely to miss the WS

He's looked really good in all of his live at-bats. And he's a good matchup against this team.” Ty France is an absolute unit physically for someone under 6 feet tall. but for some reason though he still swings a pool noodle with a 71 for his average swing speed. Quirky numbers for him on defense, 96th percentile range for a 1B. 1st percentile arm.

Of course not, but if you look at Ohtani, he's merely excellent against LHP (130wrc+) vs top tier superstar against RHP (wrc+ 168). Strikes out more, walks less, SLG is over 100 points lower. Freeman - career-wise 120 wrc+ against LHP vs 151 against RHP. Muncy - 113 vs LHP, 130 vs RHP. I'd take those margins everytime. Muncy has been especially dogsh*t against LHP this season though with a 59 wRC+, 159 vs RHP. Given how the Jays seem to be giving guys different looks this offseason, they might be using different guys in big spots against Ohtani ... first time might be Little, second time might be Fluharty, 3rd time might be Lauer. then Fluharty again, then Lauer and back to Little... something like that. Trying to make sure he gets different looks as often as possible. Feels like Varland is gonna get a shot too given they seem to like using him in every game of the postseason. Seranthony probably matches up more towards the Teoscar part of the lineup. Spanky__99 and Anal Hershiser 2
