I always feel like the Maple Leafs play better away from home in the playoffs. Like the pressure of the home crowd becomes too much. Maybe thats the secret sauce here? Maybe they'll relax feeling there's less pressure in game 3?

The reason I ask is because I umpire baseball from time to time and we once had an on-deck batter struck by an errant throw in a playoff game and we got the book out and looked it up. The rules don't differentiate between on-deck batters or other players on the field of play.

Rule 6.01(b) states that in this instance:

"the ball is dead, the batter is declared out and
all runners return to the bases occupied at the time of the pitch"

No they just said that the ball was out of play. It seemed so strange we even had to challenge it. Rules interpretations are challenges? It was obvious what happened on the field of play

The Jays are fully capable of going into Seattle and winning 2 of 3. I’m choosing not to be negative. They have played terrible. They just need a good start in Game 3.

So far this feels like 2016 where right off the bat it seemed like the team was just not destined to compete.  Hoping they turn things around on the road.

Just can’t fathom what the Mariners has done being tired after the gruesome 5 game series with Detroit and flew from the opposite coast with the time difference and basically 24 hours of rest.

 

Then Miller pitched the game of his life who was awful in his prior recent performances

Agreed.  Baseball is a crazy game and that's why we love/hate it.  It's now the Jays turn to pick themselves up off the mat.
