The more playoff games the better for the franchise. Every playoff game is a lot of revenue, gives the franchise more cred. Making it to an ALCS is huge even if you lose. Making it to a World Series even bigger even if you lose. Like wouldn't it be great to have baseball this Sunday... how could you think it would be worse to have a game at Rogers Center to look forward to over Thanksgiving, even if a doomed and futile mission, then not having Thanksgiving games? When I was like a little kid in 85 I cried watching the ALCS on black and white TV. A little older in 89 and 91 almost burnt every blue jays shirt I had. In 2015 and 2016 as a grown middle aged man I rage posted on the board before this one. Even though I was emotionally damaged every time and still maybe not recovered from ALCS losses still would rather have made it to ALCS then lost to Baltimore in 89 or 16... or not had the bat flip. Would have been more damaged by earlier losses. G-Snarls, Spanky__99 and thatoneguy 3

Totally fair, I disagree I hate losing in the playoffs and I hate it more the deeper we go, but at least you answered me like an adult instead of an unhinged lunatic looking for a fight so thank you for that.

IKF about to hit a homer at Yankee Stadium in front of a fanbase that didn't like him when he was there.

You seriously consider that innocuous? I don't know man, It seems to me that you lack a whole heck of a lot of self-awareness. JaysAllMighty, Pinkfloid, Gen.Disarray and 2 others 5

Because going deeper in the playoffs and losing is more painful, it is innocuous, you may not agree but it is innocuous, it wasn't snarky, I wasn't going after anybody. I simply made a very calm point and I moved on. But because it was me some people decided to get snarky, that's what this is, has nothing to do with this being a blue jays board or the comment itself because anybody else makes that comment nobody cares.

People are so thin skinned about the Yankees and what US media says because of this inferiority complex that people here have so that beating the Yankees becomes their World Series, you don't see how that's f***ed up? It's seriously the kind of stuff that Boston Red Sox fans do, and it's pathetic when they do it and it's pathetic when we do it. If I'm going to lose I'd rather be early, it's not as painful, if we're going to keep going I want to go all the way. What in the actual f*ck are you even talking about? max silver 1

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2025 Posted October 7, 2025 IKF starting tonight over Straw, Lukes and Barger is the right call. 1. Lefties have a .209 xwOBA against Rodon's slider and he throws it A LOT against LHB. Lukes and Barger cannot hit LHP sliders. IKF at least has a .272 xBA against LHP sliders. Straw has similar numbers. 2. Bieber is a groundball pitcher. This is probably why they are prioritizing IKF's infield defense over Straw's OF defense. Brownie19, max silver and Omar 2 1

Thanks for the breakdown, this helps make a little more sense out of this lineup decision as it's confounding at a glance.

Yeah Lukes and Barger are pretty good players. IKF is mid at best. But in certain scenarios it makes sense to play IKF and tonight is one of them.
