You too? You'd rather get closer to a championship and then lose?

The more playoff games the better for the franchise.  Every playoff game is a lot of revenue, gives the franchise more cred.  Making it to an ALCS is huge even if you lose.   Making it to a World Series even bigger even if you lose.

Like wouldn't it be great to have baseball this Sunday... how could you think it would be worse to have a game at Rogers Center to look forward to over Thanksgiving, even if a doomed and futile mission, then not having Thanksgiving games?

When I was like a little kid in 85 I cried watching the ALCS on black and white TV.  A little older in 89 and 91 almost burnt every blue jays shirt I had.   In 2015 and 2016 as a grown middle aged man I rage posted on the board before this one.  Even though I was emotionally damaged every time and still maybe not recovered from ALCS losses still would rather have made it to ALCS then lost to Baltimore in 89 or 16... or not had the bat flip.   Would have been more damaged by earlier losses.

Totally fair, I disagree I hate losing in the playoffs and I hate it more the deeper we go, but at least you answered me like an adult instead of an unhinged lunatic looking for a fight so thank you for that.

Are you experiencing a medical emergency? I'm starting to get concerned, maybe we can send some medical assistance on your behalf.

That's what I'm going with as well. IKF about to hit a homer at Yankee Stadium in front of a fanbase that didn't like him when he was there.

I'd be semi satisfied if he manages to make any kind of offensive contributions whatsoever.

Yeah like a single and being driven in for a run by Springer or Schneider would be as much as I'll let myself hope for

Even a successful sacrifice bunt would be better than nothing.

Okay dude, it's real simple we have a different point of view about this, like it's not the end of the world.

This is the second straight day that a completely innocuous comment on my part leads to snarky ******** pointless war of words.

You came out and said that you would rather the Jays lose to the Yankees than proceed further in the playoffs! You are posting this on a blue jays centric forum filled with  blue jay fans.  You seriously consider that innocuous?

I don't know man, It seems to me that you lack a whole heck of a lot of self-awareness.

You're entitled to your opinion.

But no matter how many posts you make on the subject you're not going to convince anyone to agree with you on here and you'll mostly just keep making people irritated. So you should just expect that they will be.

Because going deeper in the playoffs and losing is more painful, it is innocuous, you may not agree but it is innocuous, it wasn't snarky, I wasn't going after anybody. I simply made a very calm point and I moved on.

But because it was me some people decided to get snarky, that's what this is, has nothing to do with this being a blue jays board or the comment itself because anybody else makes that comment nobody cares.

Dude, for me it always hurts more the deeper you go. You just end up with more hope. People are so thin skinned about the Yankees and what US media says because of this inferiority complex that people here have so that beating the Yankees becomes their World Series, you don't see how that's f***ed up?

It's seriously the kind of stuff that Boston Red Sox fans do, and it's pathetic when they do it and it's pathetic when we do it.

If I'm going to lose I'd rather be early, it's not as painful, if we're going to keep going I want to go all the way.

What in the actual f*ck are you even talking about?

Yes, for the love of god, yes. It's better for the team's future, for the players, for the fans, and for the organization as a whole tenfold.

Do you not realize the magnitude of winning a pennant for a team that hasn't won one in 30+ years?

IKF starting tonight over Straw, Lukes and Barger is the right call.

1. Lefties have a .209 xwOBA against Rodon's slider and he throws it A LOT against LHB. Lukes and Barger cannot hit LHP sliders. IKF at least has a .272 xBA against LHP sliders. Straw has similar numbers.

2. Bieber is a groundball pitcher. This is probably why they are prioritizing IKF's infield defense over Straw's OF defense.

Guys, let's not be caveman Yankee fans here who will disregard basic splits as "analytics".

IKF starting tonight over Straw, Lukes and Barger is the right call.

1. Rodon is a lefty with an elite slider that he will spam against lefties who have a .209 xwOBA against it. Lukes and Barger cannot hit LHP sliders. IKF at least has a .272 xBA against LHP sliders. Straw has similar numbers.

2. Bieber is a groundball pitcher. This is probably why they are prioritizing IKF's infield defense over Straw's OF defense. Plus, the little league RF fence can hide Taters a little bit anyway.

All true and all makes sense, I just got a soft spot for lukes season he’s putting together but you’re def right

Thanks for the breakdown, this helps make a little more sense out of this lineup decision as it's confounding at a glance.

Yeah Lukes and Barger are pretty good players. IKF is mid at best.

But in certain scenarios it makes sense to play IKF and tonight is one of them.

Yes lol

Do you go back and think that it's a shame the 2015 and 2016 teams even made the playoffs?

Yes they all project to suck tbh so just go with the infield D
