Easier to accept a series loss against juggernaut, homerun heavy offenses than slap hitting goblins who use devil magic to find holes and run you dizzy on the basepaths. With that said, hope they beat Detroit who seems like a pretty mediocre team aside from Skubal, and the M's who are legit scary when they're firing on all cylinders like they have been the last two weeks. Rooting for the Brewers to make a deep run, just an excellently run org top to bottom. BTS 1

Laika Community Moderator Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Giolito has an elbow issue and won't be on the Red Sox roster Could be a difference maker. Thins out the rotation after Crochet. More pressure on Bello/Tolle/Early/Harrison.

They smoked them in the 2018 division series and bested them in the wildcard game in 2021. For some reason Cora turns into an evil genius come post season. Yankees are the better team but it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see the Redsox beat them again. Should be interesting. Stangstag 1

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 The Yankees aren't allowing Red Sox (or Blue Jays if it gets that far) fans from buying post season tickets. That's going to cause some serious drama online. I hope the Yankees lose their wildcard round just for that alone.

SeranthonySantander Verified Member Posted September 29, 2025 Posted September 29, 2025 Watching "the comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox" on lookmovie2.to for free, to get hyped up for the Red Sox series tomorrow. I think it's a Netflix series.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 I know they spread the games out like this to avoid overlap as much as possible, but must suck for Padres fans to have to watch playoff baseball at noon local time on weekdays. I work remotely so I know what I'll be doing all day the next couple of days.

I invested so much time watching the 2023 jays season but couldn't watch their most important games because they scheduled their playoff games during work hours. Gotten blue balled by the mlb more than by any girl.
SeranthonySantander Verified Member Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 What did the nba commissioner say? Just catch the highlights on twitter. At least we will get prime time with sox yanks, hopefully. In 2016 I had to settle for mlb app notifications for I think 1 or maybe 2 of the rangers games.

Had terrible times in 2015 though, i think i remember one game being a noon weekday start in TO

Muh Yankees and muh Dodgers The Yankees and Dodgers getting prime time is probably more of an ESPN call as they own the rights to the games and those games will do the best numbers but yeah MLB probably doesn’t care either way. There’s no right answer. The NBA has every playoff game on prime time but the playoffs last for 2.5 months. That’s just not feasible for baseball for a number of reasons. So the alternative is staggering the games throughout the day to maximize viewership as best they can and also end the WC round in 3 days. I think the real solution here is changing the days. The Wild Card Round starts on a Tuesday and the World Series starts on a Friday. They should flip that around. The WC round being on Fri-Sat-Sun would make the “all day” format more logical. Ultimately, much like Adam Silver is terrified of the NFL, Manfred and/or the network are likely trying to avoid them as much as possible as well. Brownie19 1

This kid has raked everywhere he's been - just can't stay healthy. Cleveland desperately needs him to become a middle of the order bat for them.
