Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 I'm taking my youngest (who's the world's #1 Jays fan) to the game tonight. Hoping it doesn't rain so they can open the dome and hoping Gausman shoves again! I'd also selfishly like to see my guy, George Springer go deep. Orgfiller, Governator, Spanky__99 and 5 others 8
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 If the Jays finish 4–2 or better, they win the division. If the Jays finish 3–3, the Yankees must finish 6–0. If the Jays finish 2–4, the Yankees must finish 5–1. If the Jays finish 1–5, the Yankees must finish 4–2. If the Jays finish 0–6, the Yankees must finish 3–3. Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Seems like 4-2 is probably a good guess for the Yankees finish with. That's right in line with the 10-5 record they have against the Orioles and White Sox this year, We should probably just finish with two series wins to close it out but if we go 3-3 we very likely win the division. 2-4 even gives us a good chance. 1-5 and we are in some trouble. G-Snarls and Stangstag 2
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Gausman, Scherzer, Bieber vs Giolito, Crochet, Bello Jays should win games 1 and 3. Game 2 is a punt unless Crochet has a blister or something. Then... Yesavage, ???, Gausman vs Seymour, Houser, Boyle I am assuming the ??? will be some Berrios/Lauer combo. Jays again line up well to take 2 of 3 but it's the stupid Rays and Joe Boyle will probably strikeout 14 so who knows. Hopefully the division is locked up before that final Gausman start so he can just throw three innings and dip. G-Snarls and Jays24 2

Agree. We should expect the Yankees to win 4 or 5 out of their last 6 and they almost certainly win 2 or 3 from the White Sox first (who probably can't wait for the season to be over). Baltimore OTOH will actually try to be spoilers against them (they seem to get off on that). The more games we win early the less we have to worry about the last few... Stangstag and Terminator 2

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Ranked concerns: 1. How does Max Scherzer pitch in his last regular season start and can we trust him with a post season start 2. Does Bo make it back for the post season day 1 ........ large gap ......... 3. How does Yesavage hold up in his 3rd start and can he handle a post season start 4. Can Santander hit and do we risk a post season roster spot/DH spot or iffy OF defense to have his bat in the lineup .............. smaller gap ...... 5. JS bullpen usage 6. Jeff Hoffman ...
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Timmy Tacos getting activated today? These lineups are starting to gross me out. Barger, Lukes, Heineman, Gimenez, Loperfido, IKF, and France are all below 100 wRC+ since Aug 1st. Since Sept 1st, add Schneider, Kirk, and Straw to the s*** list. And then since Sept 8th (last 2 weeks) Vlad and Varsho have also been plugs. Only Springer and, surprisingly, Clement, are over 100 wRC+ in all those samples. George really carrying the offense. Geeze. 211 wRC+ in the second half. Orgfiller, Stangstag, Jays24 and 1 other 4
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Clement is kind of the lynch pin of the whole team with his production, defensive skill and versatility, and personality.

No idea how you watch this season and the past seasons to not have points 5/6 right behind Bo lol.

The number three slot in our playoff rotation is THE major question mark. Right now there's no comfortable answer. Perhaps some piggyback of Yesavage and Lauer? Bo would really benefit from us not falling into the wildcard, Santander should probably come off the bench if Bo plays unless he looks really good here in the last six games. I've largely been fine with Schneider's bullpen usage, I think he makes mostly good decisions, I think our pitchers just blow a lot of games. Hoffman, you just got to hope he gets on a roll at the most perfect time of year. Maybe that playoff adrenaline will go straight to his fastball. BatFlip and G-Snarls 2
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 I think I am also in the relatively quiet group who thinks JS makes mostly good BP decisions but has guys who don't do their job too often At any given time it's been hard to know who to rely on out of the pen. They've all been pretty inconsistent and streaky. Masterbather 1
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Everyone relax. Our ace in the hole: the Jays play .667 ball at home. This team is magic at the dome; they win even when they don't deserve it. If we don't win the division I have made a short list of posters to ban just to clear the air before the playoffs begin. Laika and G-Snarls have already given the thumbs up on most of the names submitted. To those being banished, thank you for your service. Spanky__99, Gen.Disarray, Brownie19 and 4 others 5 2

Ending with 6 well played home games and securing post season home field advantage against every other AL team would be absolutely MASSIVE (Which essentially just means playing no more than 2-3 games worse than the Mariners and Yankees. No one else can catch us)

Yeah this team is unapologetically obsessed with defense, so the outfield corners being George and Tony for playoff games is probably not something they have any intention of doing if Bo has to DH. Not sure what they do with Santander in that scenario though. If they feel he's not going to help them this season but he feels ready to go, then it's going to be a tough situation. Stangstag 1

I wonder if they've discussed a bench/part-time role with him and he flat out refused. Gotta think he'd be valuable off the bench at the very least.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Keeping Loperfido around isnt worth not seeing the potential game changing bat Santandar can be. Please dont screw this up and kill the positive mojo we got going heading into the playoffs.
