The Rays have started Griffin Jax in their most recent bullpen games. It doesn't mean that they'll do it again, but it's worth noting.

Who was the last successful player to go from A ball to MLB in a year for us?  Probably been a couple but I don't recall.  I remember Osuna went from A ball straight to MLB a decade ago (He had so much potential, what a disappointing outcome).

Kirk kind of did. He was in AA for a very short time due to COVID cancelled season then up with the big club.

As long as he doesn't turn into Greg Maddux tonight I feel confident. 😎

They still haven't announced the corresponding roster move to promote him?

Boricki seems the logical choice to me.

They didn't ask Borucki to face 8 hitters yesterday because he was sticking around...

Osuna. Vernon Wells many years ago. This is a big deal, arguably even more impressive because he was drafted this year.

The Yesavage A ball to MLB thing is kind of artificial because he should not have started in A ball

Seven+ players from the 2024 draft have already debuted, so it's not that insane

The only way to beat the Rays is to out slug them in this baby ballpark. If you don’t hit Homeruns against them you won’t beat them. Plain and simple.

I think it's perfectly defensible that the team didn't want to assign Yesavage to a cold weather team in the spring of his first professional season.

Travis Snider!

I remember Ricciardi selling him to fans as some kind of future hall of famer, along with Ricky Romero (who he compared to Johan Santana). lol

Is there a certain reason why Kirk isn’t catching?

He got used quite a bit on his planned off day

Maybe just be that?
