Pinch hitting is hard and it seems like most players take a big hit in production when they do it. It might make sense to use batters who can simply put the ball in play and try to get some BABIP luck. Maybe that's why the Jays pinch hit with IKF, Straw, France, etc. since they don't strike out much. SSS alert (always will be when it comes to pinch hitting), but: IKF has a 134 wRC+ in 30 pinch hit plate appearances Schneider has a 27 wRC+ in 32 PAs okay but somebody give IKF the memo because I believe he has struck out looking in important spots twice now lol
Jesusindashed Verified Member Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 Gausman is a f***ing beast. This could have been a sweep f***ing Hoffman. Barger is having better ABs again

For a non 1-year deal probably. Ray and Semien were insane value deals, but it's much harder to hit on a multi-year deal, particularly a $100M+ contract. Jays24 and Gen.Disarray 2

Vancouverite Verified Member Posted September 11, 2025 Posted September 11, 2025 If jays win today, if they can just go .500 rest of season after today, than for Yankees or Red Soxs would have to go Yankees - 13 - 4 Red Soxs - 12 - 3 to overtake us in the division as we owe the tie breaker Red Soxs and Yankees are facing each other for 3 games starting tomorrow, hoping for a 2-1 series (no sweeps). I feel pretty good about our chances of winning the division, going 13-4 / 12-3 is no easy feet even if Yankees/Red Sox schedule is soft down the stretch. Terminator, Jays24, BatFlip and 1 other 4

It feels closer than this though, doesn’t it? I was wondering whether the Yankees sweeping the Red Sox helps put Boston out of it, given we still have to play them. But ultimately probably better 2-1 Yankees and we win against Red Sox.

I dunno though, feels like George Springer signing here is what Toronto on the map with free agents. Don't think we'd have Gausman if springer draft. The indirect benefits that Springer brought to this organization are understated if you ask me. Jays24 1
