Yeah nothing against Vladdy, he's having a decent season but imagine if he was playing like a superstar like he did in 2021 and the second half of last season? Would definitely be considered World Series favourites.

But did you hear that he tried to adapt to swing for launch angle and it "messed up his swing", so like a good professional he completely quit on trying to get better and went back to his usual messed up swing.

And then we rewarded him for it.

We’ve been saying this for years. I think its safe to pen Vlad as an xStat underachiever. Much like some pitchers are FIP beaters. Just the other way around.

Just because people have been saying it for years doesn't make it true.

In his 6 seasons prior to this one, he's underperformed his xStats only one time. His xStats and real stats have basically been spot on the 5 other seasons.

I remember everyone saying he was an xStat underachiever again last year but by year's end his real numbers caught up.

Popkins helping everyone else do more damage while Vlad drills everything into the ground and does his Vladimir Arraez Jr impersonation is mind boggling to me. He might be unfixable due to his own ego. We just have to hope there’s at least a few more 165 wRC+ seasons before his inevitable sub-0 WAR performance in his mid/late 30’s and 40’s.

It felt like the bubble was going to burst eventually with the continuous stream of "B" type lineups we've been seeing recently. The team could really benefit from getting Varsho and Gimenez back, hopefully they can each return shortly after the break although I haven't heard any updates on the potential timeline for Gimenez.

This is why pitching depth is so important. Jays bullpen depth options have actually been solid when they've been called up from Buffalo. I know when everyone is healthy, the Jays don't have enough room to roster everyone (like we've been discussing who in the pen gets cut when Yimi or Burr etc get back), but in baseball that's never the case usually lol. 

Adding bullpen reinforcements before and at the trade deadline wouldn't hurt IMO, especially if the Jays can't land a top starter. If the Jays are only going to allow their SP's pitch once/twice through an order in a Postseason game, will need a deep bullpen to finish off the games.

I'd love to get Clase. Just pay up and get an elite RP. 

$6.4m in 2026 then two club options for $10m. 

He probably has $30m in surplus value on that contract and would actually be worth a Nimalla. 

At a minimum, Ross should grab a quality vet RP like Milner or Pagan. 

Jake Bird is a popular controllable option. Bednar has 2026 as his final arb year.
