I have not been one to really complain about Schneider's bullpen usage this year. But this IS egregious. Unless there was some issue with Green that we don't know about. This is just wasteful.

I guess you could make the argument that JS is trying to keep everyone sharp however YRod pitched on Sunday so....

I'm guessing it's a combination of not having anyone else deemed available, not wanting to extend of the 1 inning RP's, and Yariel possibly already being "hot" before all the tack on runs. 

Regardless, a smarter manager uses Green for a 2nd inning. Schneider isn't that guy.

Yeah it's not ideal but I think Yariel warmed up yesterday and then again today (as he should have in what looked like close games) after throwing nearly 2 innings of high leverage on Sunday.

So he just decided to bring him in this time to eat the inning and then he'll get a day off tomorrow. Instead of having him throw 4 days in a row.

The pen should be in better shape tomorrow. Hoffman and Little will be available and I believe Yimi will be back too.

Its possible that Yimi is back tomorrow to get Yariel some work and still have a high leverage arm in the tank.

Rays have two more vs. the A's and then @ Min, @ Detroit and @ Boston.

Maybe not quite one of the very best?

Best current Jays, over that 10 year period, when set to minimum 150 PAs in high leverage are Bo (138 wRC+), Vlad (135) and Gimenez (135).
