John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 Well, here ya go Barnes. Don't f*** it up please
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 makes sense to leave Fluharty in there plus good to see how he handles multiple innings

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 well guess not....turned briefly to the leaf game
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 Barnes shouldn't be on this team if he can't throw strikes to s***** hitters with a 5 run lead. DFA him and find someone who can.

Yes, I see the others on the next page. You (and others) need to understand that Schneider made the team out of STing and you don't just give up on him after like 10 at bats. He's going to get "some" rope. I don't think it will be a lot - I honestly don't, and I'll be at the front of the line complaining if he does (without results). But he's going to get more than the 10 at bats he entered the day with before he's cut. Complaining it about it every time he bats is nauseating. Frankly, most prefer seeing someone like Barger get a chance as we've already had enough sample from Schneider last year. I don't care if Barger is a lefty and would have to face other lefties. Hope Schneider has options and can go to AAA to prove he can hit high fastballs.
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 Thought Barnes was sending that one into center. Jays24 1

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 Beating the Red Sux is great. Easton Lucas shoved, the summer of George continues, Bo is on a mission, and our bullpen is well rested for the series win tomorrow night. What's not to like? Orgfiller, jaysblue, Jays24 and 7 others 8 2
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 Never in doubt, not sure why y'all were worried :)
Masterbather Verified Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 Nice win. Win the series tomorrow. Omar 1

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 The newest co-leader in pitching wins in the American League is..... Easton Lucas? Who had that on their bingo card. Pinkfloid, Jays24 and Omar 2 1
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 1st place Jays eh #StopTheCount Omar and HomeRunHomer 2

If we think that this team can compete for a title then it's a no-brainer signing. He could be the difference between making or missing the playoffs and we'll pay through the nose at the deadline for that kind of guy. Jays24 1

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 I'm buying an Easton Lucas jersey at the Jays Shop tomorrow!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 Two in a row! Jays24, Omar and Waylanderz 2 1
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 The good thing about Lucas is that it doesn’t appear to be smoke and mirrors. He’s not this good obviously but past 2 starts he’s looked like someone who could be a serviceable back end SP/depth SP, and that has a lot of value. Saw Francis come out of no where last season, maybe Pete’s magic starting to take form. Only took a decade.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 I just realized Easton Lucas wasn't even a starter in the minors. There's a 98% chance he's not, but he really does "look" legit. How fun would that be if he is?
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 Having Beaston Lucas emerge as a SP out of nowhere has also had the nice side effect of letting them try Y Rod as a one inning RP. To be honest some of you fail to appreciate that Flu and Little are studs. But you'll see soon. You'll see. Little is the new Mayza and Flu is more of the funk that every good bullpen has. I'm not seeing it with Barnes though. Orgfiller and Spanky99 2

Lucas is more sinker, where Cecil was 4 seem but both had gross swing and miss stuff and not the best command.

You're right except the part about Lucas throwing curveballs or sinkers, neither of which he throws.
