Nexii Verified Member Posted September 18, 2025 Posted September 18, 2025 Kinda crazy how much more accurate umps have gotten Pawol 92.42% and that's only good enough for 2nd worst of all umps (very small sample size) In 2019, that % would be middle of the pack In 2015, that % would be 2nd best Does make me wonder how accurate the camera tracking was back then. Then again we've seen huge improvements in some other sports. Modern NFL kickers come to mind

harvey16 Verified Member Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 Cleveland only 3 games back now after the Tigers loss, could be 2.5 if Indians can pull it out tonight. This Tigers Collapse could be one of the worst in MLB history. They were up 11 games on Sep 1st. Unreal!
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 José Ramirez on his way to another 6+ WAR season. The guy just doesn't stop raking. Stangstag 1

Guardians also on Boston's tail. If they can hang on long enough, Boston and Detroit play each other in the final series of the season. Cleveland can make that series very very very interesting.

Sucks he’s such a lowkey guy content staying in Cleveland. He could’ve been a Jay like 2-3 years ago. What a difference he would make in this lineup. Perfect Game and Spanky__99 2

Yeah he's one of those near miss additions that would have dramatically raised the ceiling of this club year to year. A Lindor addition would have produced similar impact as well. Stangstag 1

He's easily going to reach the 300-300 club with plus defense at 3B and, in my mind, should be a 1st/2nd ballot HOFer. Might even sniff the 400-400 club if he stays healthy.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 The epic collapse of the Detroit Tigers continues… About to have their division lead reduced to 1.5 games. Absolutely insane flip of the standings by Cleveland

Well he's played over 40 postseason games in Cleveland, so it's not like he lost anything not going to the Blue Jays. He may yet play more postseason games than the Blue Jays this year lol

glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2025 Posted September 21, 2025 Mariners win the season series against the Astros, so the current 2 game lead is really 3 games. I have extreme Astros fatigue as a baseball fan so no issues with another team taking the West, even if it's the Mariners. Pinkfloid, BatFlip and Stangstag 3
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 21, 2025 Posted September 21, 2025 I must say I do not miss the one game tiebreakers Making the season series matter just makes the regular season games more meaningful which feels right Playing a team 13 times and then having to do a coin flip game would be so goofy. Was goofy. Spanky__99 1
Alejandro Murphy Verified Member Posted September 21, 2025 Posted September 21, 2025 Seattle 14-1 record last 15 games plus another one tonight against Houston. they manhandled Mr. Alexander and Raleigh 1 HR away to 60. i hope the Jays avoids them in the 1st round (WC or Divisional Series) these guys are scary with their HR power Stangstag 1
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 Seattle just demolished Jason Alexander, the dude that completely shut us down last week. Gotta love baseball. I do not want to see the Mariners in the playoffs
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 Guardians now in a playoff spot and the Astros are not. It's gotta be upsetting the be a fan. They really gave away those games against Seattle with poor effort and poor execution.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 Stick a fork in the Red Sox, they're done. Nobody wants that last playoff spot.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 We can certainly finish them :) As of right now WC 2 and 3 are too close to call... BOS/CLE/HOU all right there. Yankees are pretty much a lock and Texas/KC are too far back BatFlip and Spanky__99 2
