If nothing else happens in this thread. please let it be known I may be the first human being to actually get Grant to say the words "You are correct, I was wrong."

Definitely not the first, but I'll be happy if it stops that false narrative.

Grant77 is not right-wing, lol.

Certainly not, I'm somewhat liberal actually. I just believe his original statements more than the investigation. Those kinds of statements are actually seen as the most credible in criminology, for what it's worth.

MLB doesn't have the strongest track record of telling the truth to it's fans, especially when it comes to stars. That's no conspiracy.

I agree the MLB can be scandalous/ruthless even, but the FBI were involved friendo, and he was cleared.

There is essentially no investigation when the defendant agrees to plead guilty to all charges. I would be more convinced if he had pled not-guilty and were still convicted.

The Brewers lit up Skenes and Aceucki in the same game. If anyone needs convincing that they are the league's best team, that is it.

Theyre on a roll rohht now but their "8 runs per game" clip they're scoring  at right now will eventually cease

Hopefully before they play us

If you don't think 30 billionaires could have some sway over the FBI, show me the Epstein files.

So what's the fame cutoff? Clase was a pretty big name and it seems like they're coming down hard on him

It has a lot to do with one player being in Cleveland and the other being in LA, I'm sure.

That means Skenes will be on his game for his next start, which comes against Toronto lol.

If you think Clase and Ohtani are even remotely in the same realm of popularity/importance to the game im not sure what to say lol

He's just asking what the cutoff is in terms of how rich and famous you have to be for people to cover up your crimes.  Clase isn't some nobody rookie.

Okay then. 😅

I'm not saying that is what I think happened, just that I'm not holding up the FBI as the shining example of truth and transparency

Better example, MLB buried Pete Rose for the same. Even though MLB has gotten in bed with gambling companies, I lean to them still taking this stuff seriously. What happens to Clase and Hoburg in the long run will be the barometer

Safe to say Woodruff is back and beasting and not suffering any injury hangovers...

Offseason signing target???

Jays will have a couple holes in their rotation next season with Bieber, Scherzer, Bassitt, and Lauer being FA's. That leaves a rotation of just Gausman & Berrios + arms like Francis/Manoah/Lucas/Macko to fill out the back end or for depth. Maybe Yesavage works his way into the picture during ST with a successful stint in Buffalo and/or the Majors this September.

If Bieber comes back strong, would definitely try to work something out with him.

Wouldn't mind bringing back Lauer as a No. 5 starter and lefty for the rotation. He likely won't cost too much. Likely something similar to what Matt Boyd signed for.

Wonder what Woodruff could get as a free agent? He definitely would be a nice target. I'm guessing something similar to what Blake Snell signed for last offseason (5 years/$180M). Maybe a bit more/bit less. Who knows how the market shapes up.

Estrada I think will be in the mix for the #5 spot also though I bet he ends up being in the 6-10 range. Grant Rogers... same deal. Kloffenstein is likely Buffalo emergency depth fodder or straight up released.

Lauer isn't a free agent, he's arbitration eligible.

I'd like to bring Bieber back and leave that 5 spot open for our internal options. If we're going to add a second pitcher, it should be a 1 year guy like Scherzer.

I love Chris Bassitt, but I don't think he returns.
