definitely not illegal by the rules, only rules about the bats are they cant exceed a certain length or a certain diameter, and must be a single piece of wood. It doesn't specify where the thickest diameter has to be located.

I wish Judge didn't play for the Yankees because he's actually quite likeable as a player. I feel he's almost underrated even though he plays in New York which is actually insane lol.

I understand the reasoning for the move, but they made a promise to him when he signed a 10 year contract and it was obviously very important to him.

The organization consistently treats people like s***, they have the worst fans in the history of professional sports, and hires a manager who should have a lifetime ban from baseball and players sign there. I just don't get it and I never will.

Plus the ballpark is out in the middle of nowhere. It's still like a 40 min subway ride from Central Station. 

Also, the concessions are crazy expensive. Probably the worst MLB ballpark in terms of prices.

I mean not like there is much land in Manhattan you can just build a stadium on lol. 40 Min subway isn't really all that bad. To drive from Sherway into Toronto it could take you that long in traffic with all the gardiner/lakeshore construction and its like 12km lol.

Drives me nuts when concessions are so expensive at sports venues. I can understand beer to a degree but charging $10 for a bottle of water should be criminal.

Nothing is really around Yankee Stadium. No sports bars, restaurants, nightlife etc. Pretty much everyone crowds the subways after the game and get out of there haha. 

Some places its ridiculous. I don't understand why people still keep paying those prices. I remember in 2015, Yankee Stadium was extremely expensive for beer like almost $18 USD. Sure it's more now haha. Some ballparks still have decent prices. Like a beer should be around $10-12 at most. Or heck, a can should even be under $10.

It's just those 2?  They certainly made it seem like several on the team were.  Judge is not, which I thought was the exception.  

Caleb Joseph said Ketal Marte used a torpedo bat on the D-Backs back in 2019.  He said they aren't new.

Apparently his struggles date back into the end of last year?  I thought I read he was like 2 for his last 32 with like 25 K's or something silly.  Probably just a coincidence.

The Bronx is not in the middle of nowhere lol. Just because it's not in a super central location doesn't mean it's in an inaccessible spot. With half the teams barely playing in the cities that they claim as part of their identity, the Yankees playing in the Bronx is not one of those problems.

It's basically just Volpe and Jazz as far as I know. Of course it became a big story when the Yankees hit a billion HRs this weekend, but it would've otherwise gotten swept under the rug as a neat little innovation that teams were trying out.

Don't really see or hear of it anymore. 

The torpedo bat makes sense in theory but I am sure there are certain downsides. Pitchers with east-west movement probably have a better time against torpedo users since the end of the bat is more useless than ever. At the end of the day the mass of the bat is a zero sum game.
