Who could be some possible trade targets? I know it's still early but will try to come up with a list.

Yeah that's what we need, to trade more young players from a farm system bereft of talent as it is.

Sell, not buy.

Just took a glance of the standings. A couple of trade candidates from teams that likely are selling (could change obviously):

Luis Robert Jr

Taylor Ward

Brent Rooker

Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Josh Bell

Jake Burger

Pete Alonso

Starling Marte

JD Martinez

Paul Goldschmidt

Nolan Arenado

Ryan McMahon

Joc Pederson

Obviously some targets would be expensive. But a couple of intriguing power bats, rentals and even some bats with term. Always fun to talk trade scenarios.

If the Jays can stay above .500 throughout July, I would definitely try to add especially if everyone is healthy. Would give it one last shot.

Can't keep the status quo obviously. If this current team wants to make a run at WC3 and do some damage in the Postseason, they need to make upgrades especially offensively.

You either add to the core or sell. Keeping the status quo would be the worst option.

Really depends if the team wants to take the plunge and make Springer a bench piece going forward. Easiest way to improve the offense is stick a big guy like Ward/Rooker/Robert in RF and use Springer as a PR/defensive sub/backup CF.

That would also open up the possibility of trading KK to a contender for a relief piece or lottery ticket prospect.

Arenado and McMahon are nice targets to improve the infield if wanted, though the combo of IKF and Horwitz might prove to be effective.

Honestly, the best and cheapest addition to the team at this point would be Bo pulling a rabbit out of his hat like he did in 2022.

He had a 106 wRC+ at the end of June that year, the rest of the season he put up 152 wRC+

Even if Bo does start going on a tear, the Jays need to add another bat or two to this lineup.

The status quo isn't good enough.

Hard to believe this is the last game the Jays will play in this ballpark. We've played some historic games here.

Huge games, sad man.

Why are you so fixated on this? Varsho is 7 for 8 in stolen bases this season, the foot first slide really isn't and hasn't been an issue.

Not sure if you were watching the game but it was IFK and not Varsho who I said that to. IFK would have been safe if he did slide head first. Just don't like giving up free outs when we have this level of offense.

We have a hard schedule upcoming, it'll be very evident if this team should be buying or selling by the end of this month. Let's hope we are buyers because who doesn't want us winning more games.

I wasn't paying attention was the stuff bad, but the stats line of 4 IP, scored 0 runs, 3 hits, 1 walk is good. Why pull him so early,

He was fine... 7 whiffs and 1 hard hit ball he was lucky on, that's it. Nothing to see here, as for the early pull, the pen was fresh and they likely didn't want him to see Francis 3 times through, sound decision.

I obviously didn't know which play you were referencing as I watched the game later and browsed through the comments. It's far from guaranteed that IKF would have been safe with a head first slide on that particular play in mention.

Ya he started off rough but got better as the game went on. A better team could have punished him early but kudos to him for getting his stuff together by the end.

Why are the A's not PH Gelof, do they not want to win or WTF?

Carlos you're aware Gelof has a 63 wRC+ at the moment right?

Encouraging to see Francis have a good game, even if it was against the A's. He's been facing some pretty good teams so far.

With Yariel close to a return, those two should be able to hold down the #5 spot.

Trade for Brent Rooker, make him the offensive coordinator and hit him cleanup

What do you think Oakland would ask for?

He has controllability which is the nice thing, so wouldn't just be a rental. Would definitely target him during the offseason if Oakland makes him available.
