saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Schneider is the last person that deserves to be fired Yeah, because bunting with runners on 1st third with one out in a tie game on the road in the 7th inning with Ernie Clement at the plate, who is top 10 percentile in contact and speed in the league, was a great strategy. Constantly running out Bo and Springer top 4 in the order is wise.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Author Posted May 8, 2024 Vladdy is going to get two managers fired before he hits his mid twenties! Who says young people can't accomplish big things?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Problem is that we have no internal candidates that I see who would be impactful. May as well ride it out until seasons end with Schneider as painful as that would be. Dump Schneider, Mattingly and Martinez Promote Hale to manager and Hague to hitting coach DFA Biggio while we are at it

Getting rid of him doesn't change the root cause.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 all night long the first pitch of the AB has been the best pitch to hit and we're taking it consistently.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Author Posted May 8, 2024 Dump Schneider, Mattingly and Martinez Promote Hale to manager and Hague to hitting coach DFA Biggio while we are at it The first two are possible I guess. The third? You of all people should realize by now that Biggio is INDESTRUCTABLE!

I wanted him fired immediately

Getting rid of him doesn't change the root cause. I've seen this happen in my professional life too. People who don't have the fortitude to "be their own man" end up getting s*** canned anyway. Schneider has been managing scared for over two seasons now. He is terrified what would happen to the clubhouse if he dropped Springer to 6th in the batting order. He is the author of his own demise. Can't blame it on Atkins. He didn't man up.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 This team is an absolute trainwreck right now.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 That fan's face was awesome. You practically hear his thoughts. Man I new I should have just gotten the cheap seats...why the hell did I pay for these seats on Stubhub.
Captain_Obvious Verified Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Bichette sux take a walk twat His skill set was never going to age well. He is already past his peak and is in free fall now.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Can we fold the franchise and then restart.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 His skill set was never going to age well. He is already past his peak and is in free fall now. Yeah I've said before I think when Bo falls off it's going to come unexpectedly and there will be no fixing it. I didn't think it would happen at age 26. Hopefully he turns things around soon. I can't imagine the Dodgers would give up anything for Bo at this point.
bluejaysinternNo5 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 The only person I want to see on this team in 4 years is Schneider.

I agree 100% the decline will come hard and fast for his approach when it comes, but I will be in disbelief if it happens now at 26. 78% of the season left.

He has too much natural talent and is a smart hitter. Unlike Vladdy he will sort himself out.
Nexii Verified Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Though even if the Jays were hitting better, they would be .500 at best. They're literally last in team pitching WAR right now It's kind of unreal how many players are way below projections on both sides

I just can't imagine a 27 year old swinging the way Bo was swinging 2 years ago. It was like he was about to pop out of his shoes with every swing. I think he is done. If I am going to give a compliment to the FO, it is not signing Manoah, Vlad, and Bo to long term deals. At least this team can be rebuilt in a couple of years.

Ya even with Bo sucking right now, his body of work is too long for me to think he's washed. I always felt he needed to be a 2nd baseman though.

Unlike Vladdy he will sort himself out. wrong in what way? He has elite bat to ball skills but high chase, low BB BABIP reliance is hard to maintain. I think he will hit this year. '22 showed us how hot he can get for sustained periods after struggling. I just don't think he will sustain his 125-130 wRC+ career into his 30s with his approach.

Jays333 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 The Phillies may as well be in a whole different league than us. Just blow it up all ready. What really really sucks though is that Atkins is likely gasping for his job here and will probably trade away any valuable prospects we have remaining to make some phantom wildcard run and try to preserve his head.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 I think he will make adjustments as he matures. The best of Bo Bichette is yet to come, imo. Fair. Well I hope he tests our theories of the case for another team, cause even if he sustains a 125 bat, he just is not a good SS. At least we are really punishing the ball tonight.
bluejaysinternNo5 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Why is Pop done after 3 pitches lol

No way, this team is way below WC capacity. We’re looking at a 95 loss team here with all of Vlad, Bo, Kirk Biggio being below replacement level.
Fighting_Yeti Verified Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 I'm actually really glad that I have to work tomorrow and I won't be able to watch them. I will just hope for a better game on Friday.
BCZ Verified Member Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 I think he will make adjustments as he matures. The best of Bo Bichette is yet to come, imo. I always thought he was overrated with his 5% BB and extremely high BABIP.
