Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Berríos will bring his 4-2 record and MLB-best 1.44 ERA into play tonight. With each passing game his FIP climbs a bit more, now up to 4.01, which is a bit concerning going forward compared to his sparkling ERA. He finished last season with a 3.99 FIP, and his career mark is 4.04, so he’s very much still in line with what he has been. If he can bump up the strikeouts while keeping his home runs where they’re at, he’s going to be just fine. The Phillies will send out left hander Cristopher Sánchez, a former swingman and AAA-shuttle rider who has finally earned his place in the rotation and is doing quite well. He is just 1-3, but his 3.68 ERA and even better 2.94 FIP tell a bit of a different story. He has had some up and down starts this year, but in general he’s about league average for getting strikeouts, a touch worse than league average in giving up walks, and he just gave up his first home run of the year in his last start.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 What will it take to move Springer and Bo down? Is Schneider even allowed to?
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 What will it take to move Springer and Bo down? Is Schneider even allowed to? I don't get it. He moved Bo down for a couple of games. But you know Bo will turn it around at some point. Springer could be dealing with age related decline so he's less of a sure bet to bounce back. So not sure why Bo can be moved down but not Springer.
bluejaysinternNo5 Verified Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Springer will bat leadoff until morale improves
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 There we go, nice swing on a tough pitch by Springer there
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 What will it take to move Springer and Bo down? Is Schneider even allowed to? Doubt it. Not until the nerds say it's ok.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Looks like the game is already out of reach. Onto the next one lol
Delgalladay Verified Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 It’s sad, but this one already feels over.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2024 Author Posted May 7, 2024 Our challenges suck...hope he's out.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 I'm shocked he's out, good challenge
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Bad tag by Bo I thought the same thing. He laid the tag down so softly but the play still got overturned.
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 I'm pleasantly surprised that the Jays review team got one right.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 How is Jansen not batting clean up with Turner third?
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2024 Author Posted May 7, 2024 Kirk missed that strike three pitch by about a foot.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Kirk swung at strike three on a pitch that started a foot outside, and stayed a foot outside the whole time.
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Jays are toast unless the starting pitching is near perfect.
BCZ Verified Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 Does Springer know he’s getting paid to play good? Not that trash… he’s prob playing through an injury which is clearly stupid
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 If George Springer is heating leadoff tomorrow I am done
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 So....are we waiting for Springer to get down to a .400 OPS before we f***ING REMOVE HIM FROM THE LEAD OFF SPOT FOR A BETTER HITTER?!?!?! Just wondering....
