Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 A quality start by Kikuchi + A bases clearing triple by Bo + A Varsho bomb = Another win for the good guys.
jaysthebest Verified Member Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 I think we should switch with Romano and Yimi. Yimi is a lot better than Romano.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 I think we should switch with Romano and Yimi. Yimi is a lot better than Romano. Just let Romano be the Closer because it's a mental thing for him Meanwhile Yimi can face the best hitters in the 7th or 8th. Like tonight

Like tonight Not necessarily, sometimes the save really does happen in the 9th and that should go to your best reliever. I couldn't give a f*** about Romano's mentality.

I couldn't give a f*** about Romano's mentality. It's not about his feelings it's about his performance He's probably a worse pitcher if he's not in that capital C closer role We've seen him suck in non save situations for years
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 I don't have an issue with the way they have used the bullpen so far. Yimi should be facing the best hitters on the opposing team given how he's looked so far. He's locked in. We will see if JS pivots his plan and uses Jimi in the 9th inning if the opposing team's best players are up at that point.

We shouldn't be held hostage by a mental midget. I refuse to believe anybody can be that small.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 even average closers can close out most games, I think they will give Romano a long leash before they make the switch
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 Lol so I tune in for some post game chatter and I see that the board idiots are calling for a change at CL after another win
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 Meanwhile, Team Not Panicking continues to have a fantastic month of Blue Jays baseball. Just a really fun couple of weeks after watching the haters and losers panic after one bad road trip. Feels good to be vindicated this early. I thought it might take another week.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 If i recall it seemed like he was solid when asked to go 1, but often when he was asked to sit between innings and come back out, he was no bueno. You are correct.

mphenhef Verified Member Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 Lol so I tune in for some post game chatter and I see that the board idiots are calling for a change at CL after another win Many on this board erroneously think a closer should close out 100% of their save opportunities. Even Mo blew nearly 1 in 9 of his opportunities. Career save percentage: Mo - 89.1% Eckersly - 84.3% Hoffman 88.8% KRod - 85.2% Wagner 85.9% Henke - 85.0% Duane Ward - 77.1% Edwin Diaz 86.7% Devin Williams 85.7% Romano 89.3%

max silver Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 So with all that information, this team decided Swanson was ready to go. Dudes been utter trash every outing. It's not like the roster is exactly bursting at the seams with other leverage reliever options at the moment so unfortunately it might be necessary to just deal with Swanson having spring training at the major league level. It's really too bad that Green is out given the fact that Romano and Swanson are still rounding into form.

He gave up a double, yes, but if he got the first 2 out, then gave up the double and then K'd the next batter to finish the inning, nobody would have batted an eye. He did his job last night.
VE2OH Verified Member Posted April 23, 2024 Posted April 23, 2024 I don't like the idea of taking Kikuchi out with 81 pitches. Turner f***s up so they pull Kikuchi, what with all the BS if you keep you pitch count low you will stay in the game longer. He is the second best pitcher they have. Why is JS and PW so down on him. What a joke replacing him with only 81 pitches and still throwing 97......

Not bothering with this troll job, but for those that weren't watching, here's why Kikuchi obviously got taken out despite cruising early: - got drilled in the foot by a Bobby Witt Jr. 105.7 mph grounder a couple of innings earlier - in his last inning of work, gave up 4 consecutive scorched balls: 107.4 mph double (400 feet, HR in 25/30 parks), 106 mph HR, 101.9 mph "single" (was an error, but still drilled), and a 105.8 mph double - his last out was a 97 mph grounder, clearly he was either starting to feel the effects of his foot and/or the Royals had figured him out a third time through the lineup

Clearly the managers, coaches and executives are all f***ing morons no matter what they do.
