On the bright side, the Jays not playing Orelvis due to a suspension is less embarrassing than not playing him so they can get Springer and Kiermaier into the lineup.

Schneider is probably low key relieved he doesn't have to come up with excuses for why he continues to play Springer and KK every day instead of a younger player.

This team has taken the worst possible approach this season. Being flat out terrible is better than what they are...mediocre and boring af.

Popped for clomid lol. Clomid by itself isn’t going to do jack for athletic performance, but they just assume you were taking steroids to use it

I think mlb would probably work with the player on it, similar to ADHD meds, when a valid prescription is in play for something like that

So they are down Varsho and Martinez for today’s game???

I mean Bo is supposed to be back Tuesday and Martinez was going to be sent down anyway. However, down two position players for today’s game is not good.

Looks like they will have Clement and Kirk on the bench.

And Berroa

The likely scenario is he ran a cycle in the off-season, tried to do a post cycle therapy run of clomid, and got nailed. He probably went through the appeals process and got denied.

But I don’t think if a guy is having trouble making a baby with his wife, that mlb is going to say, you can’t use Clomid

LOL Orelvis ... does he know he's not a woman because that s*** isn't approved for men and is only for female fertility

It raises your sperm count. It absolutely is prescribed to men to make babies. It’s also stimulates lh/fsh which stimulates natural testosterone, which is problematic I guess, but it’s not to a level that’s going to give someone an athletic advantage

They probably would if he had told them about it

Which makes this even more dumb on his part. He is now suspended 80 games when it was fine if he disclosed it from the beginning I believe

Sure, but if you look it from 22 year year olds perspective, does he really want it known by anyone that he's shooting blanks and can't get his wife pregnant? That's one of those kinds of things that older guys...who gives a fuc, well take the pills.and talk about it over a beer, but a 22 year old athlete who likely has a pretty decent case of machoism....that's not something that would be easy to disclose.

Poor decision obviously and legitimately stupid given his profession but, if it's legit I can totally understand his thought process.

Real talk, any doctor worth their salt is going to let him know it’s going to raise his T levels. Any athlete is going to know that the deal is there. Masking agents and clomid are how most guys get popped. You usually get this statement each time

Too much time has passed, man. I mean in terms of basic education on these things with athletes, including the DR and other Latino countries where many people have been popped. It’s highly unlikely he took a substance for that issue and didn’t know he should disclose it. I’m pretty sure they get document like the Therapy Exception policy before their first minor league game as well, that needs to be signed and returned.

Tough, sucks, gives him 3 months to keep working harder than ever and maybe he can get into a game at the end of the year and hit the ground running next season

Look at the amount of failed PED tests during the Shapiro/Atkins regime vs AA.

Do you have some kind of list available? I don't recall there being a ton of failed tests for either regime.

So Ross was on saying still time. They need to put together a winning streak.

I will point out again, that the longest win streak the Jays had in 2023 was 5 games. The 2023 team was arguably a better team.

That means if they replicate the longest winning streak of 2023, they will be back around .500.

Sell!!!

The 2023 team was still a good team. This year's team is bad at basically everything aside from fielding a lot of good defenders.

This team isn't good enough to go on a winning streak lol.

That is what I was saying. The best the 2023 Team could do was a 5 game winning streak. Zero expectations the 2024 team can surpass that.

Yeah the 2023 team was just missing some bats, otherwise the rotation and bullpen along with their defense were all spectacular! It's a shame they wasted an opportunity with that pitching staff in top form.
