But yea other than that pretty close.

But yea other than that pretty close. This is utter nonsense Jonn. Moreno has a slower sprint speed than Vlad does. He's athletic for a catcher, but he isn't Mookie Betts man. I'd rather have Moreno than Kirk, but there's been very little difference between the 2 players so far and there's not much evidence to suggest we gave away some generational player (not that you were suggesting that). max silver, Stangstag, Spanky99 and 1 other 4

Of the three I wanted Jansen to be the one to keep but that didn't happen and I was wrong anyway - he can't stay healthy. Of the other two I'd have projected Moreno to have a longer career but performance wise they're remarkably similar and will probably stay that way. Kirk is very good. Spanky99 and Stangstag 2

Sure left-handed power but no ability to get on base. Expect a lot of wild swings and frustrating at-bats. Kinda shocked he cost that much. Tough to trade an Athletic Catcher with that much upside with the bat and keeping a fat Kirk. Diamondbacks did very well here. On 12/23/2022 at 4:14 PM, Jonn said: I would have been happier with the trade if it was Kirk instead of Moreno. I just can’t see Kirk holding up. Not only does he come up with big clutch hits he completely eliminates the other teams running game. He’s going to be a good player in this league for a long time. I still can’t believe the Jays traded him. Varsho’s plate struggles have just compounded the issue. If we really wanted a Defensive Outfielder with control I really don’t think they needed to part with the organization #1 prospect. Plus Jansen can’t stay healthy and Kirk is a disaster. The trade from 2 years ago is completely irrelevant. Evaluating the current roster Kirk should be signed long term. There’s zero in the pipeline. He’s very good at what he does, I would have preferred Moreno 2 years ago. We don’t live in 2 years ago. Spanky99 1

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 30, 2025 Posted January 30, 2025 Being fat helps at Catcher. The Molinas all played until their late 30s and all 3 of them were fat asses. The more fat = the more natural padding to avoid injury wilko 1

The only thing I said in this thread is he’s fat and Moreno is more versatile. Both true, So what’s the real problem? That bored eh? Spanky99 1
