I mean one is morbidly obese and the other is an athlete that could probably play any position on the field. But yea other than that pretty close.

Do you even watch baseball? There is no way that Alejandro Kirk can play shortstop.

This is utter nonsense Jonn.  Moreno has a slower sprint speed than Vlad does.  He's athletic for a catcher, but he isn't Mookie Betts man.

I'd rather have Moreno than Kirk, but there's been very little difference between the 2 players so far and there's not much evidence to suggest we gave away some generational player (not that you were suggesting that).

The corrected tweet says Pirates is the team. Pittsburgh collecting all the washed lefty Jays relievers from years past.

Well, he re-signed with them, he's been there since '23. Aceucki... CD cringe. 😅

Of the three I wanted Jansen to be the one to keep but that didn't happen and I was wrong anyway - he can't stay healthy.

Of the other two I'd have projected Moreno to have a longer career but performance wise they're remarkably similar and will probably stay that way.  Kirk is very good.

Does it matter? Kirk isn’t signed long-term

I’m actually really happy with Kirk at Catcher. I was just pointing out he was fat lol.

I mean hopefully the plan is for him to be resigned long term. Obviously his body is scary but not having a Catcher of his calibre is scarier.

Wow that’s quite the flip flop

Flip flop from what? Bowling Ball is an excellent Catcher,

Of all the Outfielders discussed this off-season Daulton Varsho was probably near the bottom of the list. Sure left-handed power but no ability to get on base. Expect a lot of wild swings and frustrating at-bats.

Kinda shocked he cost that much. Tough to trade an Athletic Catcher with that much upside with the bat and keeping a fat Kirk. Diamondbacks did very well here.

I would have been happier with the trade if it was Kirk instead of Moreno. I just can’t see Kirk holding up.

Moreno has been nothing short of dynamic in this post season so far. Not only does he come up with big clutch hits he completely eliminates the other teams running game.

He’s going to be a good player in this league for a long time. I still can’t believe the Jays traded him. Varsho’s plate struggles have just compounded the issue. If we really wanted a Defensive Outfielder with control I really don’t think they needed to part with the organization #1 prospect.

Plus Jansen can’t stay healthy and Kirk is a disaster.

If Kirk doesn’t commit to the body he will be out of the league before his 30th birthday.

He's certainly underrated.

So I don’t live in the past like you. The trade from 2 years ago is completely irrelevant. Evaluating the current roster Kirk should be signed long term. There’s zero in the pipeline. He’s very good at what he does,

I would have preferred Moreno 2 years ago. We don’t live in 2 years ago.

I'll give you that, your mind changed 24 hours ago. 😂

I literally have not thought about Moreno being on the roster in 2 years. The only thing I said in this thread is he’s fat and Moreno is more versatile. Both true, So what’s the real problem? That bored eh?
