Nah, can’t be true. Some dummy on here insisted Green would be back way before Ryu because he is a reliever. Oh wait….that was you!

Varsho bunting his way to another 4.7 WAR season? Only 4.2 WAR to go.

Lol

Take out the Tampa game against position players and the Jays are likely below average.

But most teams have those types of circus games on their game logs

Good point, I knew something was off when looking at that tweet lol

True, but that inning alone accounts for ~28% of their total runs.

Luplow contract selected, Cimber to 60 day IL

Is this move to give Varsho a mental break from the lineup? He f***ing needs one.

Why Luplow over all those other deserving players. Makes zero sense. If I was Davis Scheneider I would be requesting a trade.

They do seem to have an aversion to giving prospects a chance. Even the guys they call up usually just sit on the bench and pinch run.

The Jays seem to be moving away from how they managed under Buntoyo and more towards playing the starters as often as they can, which is the right call, but makes it harder to develop bench players. Schneider could be trade bait or he could be someone they value, but if they chose Luplow it is likely because they don’t envision him playing that often.

I think the next prospect we see getting everyday AB’s in the Majors is probably Orelvis.

lol

He has watched countless teammates that hes out performed on more than one level get promoted over him. Including a couple having their contracts selected. You don’t think that would piss someone off.

He has shown good power with an elite ability to get the ball in air and being selective. You don’t think that can be an asset to the current roster? A team that struggles with runners in scoring position.

He deserves a 2 week look before the deadline. Luplow is a bum.

I might have preferred him as well but the lol was for a non-prospect entering the year demanding a trade after a good half season in AAA. The very best prospects in the game get their service time manipulated all the time and even they don't demand trades.

Aside from the trade demand, I probably would have preferred Schneider too but he could be on the move and by calling him up something could be exposed? idk

If any team judges a player on a 10-day sample in the Major Leagues they probably don’t deserve to have a job in this industry.

Trying luplow to see if they need to give up prospects for a lefty mashing OF or just use him in that role

You judge players on a far smaller sample size than that all the time. Some (not me) say that you don't deserve an account on this message board.

They need an everyday LF. Varsho can’t hit. And they can’t afford to waste anymore time hoping he figures it out.

Yeah pretty much this. OPS over 1.000 against lefties at Buffalo. Not like he's going to play everyday or anything. I dont think I'd call up Schneider to benchwarm.

Hence why they usually select organizational guys for these short stints and let the actual prospects develop in the minors where they should be. They abuse the guy then send him right back down. Or something like that.

What does that even mean lol? I don’t deserve an account. I feel like I have far less beef with anyone than quite a few people. Unless they hate me in silence I haven’t had any issues.

I’m not buying the Mitch White small sample size. I’m aware of his initial success with the Dodgers but he hasn’t been anywhere near that. The angle I would buy is that he’s hurt.

I would assume 40 man roster manipulation has something to do with this also? Schneider isn't on it is he?

He’s not on it. But they will have to add this off-season anyway. So why not just do it now. There’s more than one guy they can easily DFA. Trent Thornton being one.

White had some prospect pedigree and a good minor league track record to go along with a good 100 major league innings too. I think the injury has definitely played a part in this season but time is running out and we can't keep a mid pitcher like him around.

Its a hard choice because obviously he’s useless rn and for this year he’s a punt. But it would not be surprising to see him as a decent back-end 5/6 starter as soon as 2024. Multiple years of control still.

Will probably see him as the 5th starter for the Reds or something next year

The first 5 years I followed baseball the Jays routinely called up guys like Schneider, I remember Kelly Gruber, Mark Whiten, Glen-Allen Hill, Junior Felix, Jeff Kent, Ed Sprague, probably others I'm forgetting. Willie Canate? (just saw him hitting a homerun in 93 in some throwback twitter account).

Like Sprague was 24 years old and less impressive than Scheider, and found himself hitting one of the top 3 homeruns in Blue Jays history. No need to trade for some 'vetran' prescence.

Even in 2015 Goins, Pillar, Devon Travis, Pompey, were all given shots with Goings and Pillar becoming starters.... I mean good teams should be giving a guy like Schneider a shot to help.

Genesis Cabrera (LH reliever) waived by the Cardinals. Worth taking a gamble or no? Roster Resource says he has 1 option year left which might be this season of course and still has multiple years of control left.
