Yeah, massive smoke haze, crazy.

Someone needs to do a deep dive on the Rays, their entire lineup seem to be having career years, it’s suspect as f***.

I’ve been saying it for a few weeks, I’m pretty certain they were cheating at least for the first few weeks

Judge to the IL... those guys have been snakebit, kudos to them for staying competitive.

They go after a bunch of injury-prone players though, its not entirely unexpected. Stanton, Donaldson, Rodon, etc

Judge for the most part has been healthy for his career.

Donaldson is how old now? Have to expect that.

What were they doing?

I also find it surprising everyone in their lineup are having career years as well.

I have no idea but the numbers were way too good for what is a lineup consisting of 50% replacement level/league average guys

Power numbers are alarming. A lot of these guys are hitting for way more power than their career norms.

The Rays are regressing to their mean, but that month of April was insane. Also, the Bosox seem to have hit on Yoshida, his D is horrendous though.

Seems every time I watch the Redsox game highlights there’s a Yoshida misplay of some kind. He looks really bad out there

Turribad. He's always in the hilights because of his bat though.

Yoshida: 1 WAR

Hunter Brown: 1.9 WAR

Yoshida likely will get the votes. No denying his bat has been amazing thus far.

Josh Donaldson on the hot corner. Oh my!

Wow that’s a great play

MLB really needs to consider changing up the playoff set up.

Winning your division shouldn't get you a spot if you're division sucks and so does your team.

Hopefully we don't end up with a sub .500 team in the post season this year while a much better team like the Jays or Yankees don't make it.

Yup, after the balancing of the schedule the next clear improvement should be a divisional realignment.

Go back to 4 divisions, AL/NL East/West.

Probably won’t happen until we get 2 more expansion teams though to balance the numbers.

Top 3 from each division make the playoffs, top 4 all get a bye. Its not perfect but its way better than multiple 90+ win teams missing the playoffs in favor of the Guardians with 88 wins

Thought this was interesting...

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal says the Royals have told teams they'd like to pair Aroldis Chapman with another veteran in trade talks in order to shed salary.

It's not a must, according to Rosenthal, but it's something they're looking at. Rosenthal speculates on a Chapman-Scott Barlow pairing, which is odd since Barlow has positive trade value and will bring a decent return himself. If the Royals are truly looking to trim salary, the injured Brad Keller or Amir Garrett would make more sense to attach to Chapman.

Agreed

The fewer divisions there are the less the chance of a mediocre team slipping into the playoffs

NFL is the worst for this. Happens almost every year.

Lyles or Greinke seem more likely to me

AL and NL both currently have 7 EST time zone teams. Add Nashville and Carolina in. Even split of 8 and 8. Call it a day

Bobby Miller and a first for deGrom is a good offer Spanky. What price would you have been willing to accept?
