His career has not exactly been consistent. Good, bad, good, bad, bad, bad, good. But the most recent "good" even has a 4.57 xFIP.

 

Jays probably should have just gone with the three years on Chad Green

That was my thought. The Emilio Pagan signing makes Atkins looks like a genius for signing Green.

Fricken Rays. They lost Franco, now they'll probably trade Arozarena and Glasnow yet still win 90+ games next season.

 

Yeah, and then still get bounced in the first round or two of the playoffs when they can't cycle through 35 roster players over a 5 game series. They've truly mastered the regular season matchups/platoons/fresh arms system but come playoffs that's not an advantage anymore.

Randy would be a great fit in LF for us. I wonder what he'd cost the Jays (and if TB would trade within the division)

 

They would if they got what they wanted. He's got 3 years of control left too so the price would be pretty darn steep.

 

Give them Manoah to start and guaranteed he'd actually win the Cy next season.

Never deal with the Rays. The Jays could send over 3 of their worst/lowest prospects and they would all turn into studs.

They’re not going to trade him unless they think think they’re getting someone cheaper and about as good

Dodgers would be a decent landing place for him. Tigers, Mariners maybe?

Arozarena has never had as good of a season as Teo had with us. Hard to believe. But just shows how non elite he is.

 

You mean he's never topped the 4.3 WAR season Teo had in 2021 (when he was the 28th most valuable hitter in baseball)? I mean, OK, but that doesn't mean he's chopped liver. He's a very solid player though, but yes, not exactly a superstar (despite all his antics)

Players start to decline around 29-30. Arozarena is 29 in Feb. I think we’ll see him drop from a 20-20 player to 15-15 or 15-10 pretty quick. He’s seemed to out perform his xAVG and xSLG his past few years as well. Might not even get 10sb with another team, he’s not an efficient base stealer.
