Nope they could win zero and still have a good chance to get in.

1 win probably gets them in but 2 wins is basically a lock. AL West has too many games left against one another.

Easy peasy.

If Houston takes two of three versus Seattle and two of three versus an Arizona team that might have already clinched, that gets them to 89.

Mariners take the one win from Houston and take three of four from a Texas Rangers team that probably has already clinched their playoff spot before that series and rests their players. Mariners go to 88.

That's an entirely plausible scenario.

So the Blue Jays may need 89 to make it. I definitely don't think they can afford to not win another one.

By the way Seattle still has a chance in today's game.

Seattle storming back. Teo with 26 and a couple dem ribyees. 9-8. TEX pen cant get an out.

Exhibit A how every AL team is flawed. Their pen is trash

The bridge to Chapman is definitely going to be a problem for them. Scherzer going down really hurt them. That really really hurt them.

No doubt. And a rotation of Montgomery, Eovaldi, Dunning and Gray isn’t very daunting in the least

Eovaldi is the key for them. He has to rediscover his form without Scherzer. If he does, along with Montgomery they would have an excellent front two with Dunning and Gray as acceptable third and fourth options.

Yep. And I’m there for it! Sweet Nectar. BoSox got an early start in this process. We need to make it in and make some noise.

Will be interesting to see if the Yanks embark on a rebuild or try to buy a championship yet again. I don't see them competing unless they spend massive amounts more.

They need one big left-handed bat, one or two stop gaps and a little bit of health in their rotation. Maybe another decent starter. They can be right back in the postseason next year.

Stanton is a mess, but his bat speed and power is still Elite of the Elite. Even with a tiny rebound from him he can become a big threat even if he's not quite worth his contract anymore.

Good health is the biggest key for them. I don't think they're as far off as people want to pretend they are.

They seem like such an obvious spot for either Chapman/Candelario, and probably someone like Joc Pederson/Conforto too.

Ryu maybe to shore up the rotation?

Thats not going to cut it IMO

Texas' bullpen ERA is almost 5 after today. I foresee some really interesting playoff games in their future.

Royals beat the Astros. Texas is going to win.

It's over. Just a matter of when we clinch, not if.

Print your playoff tickets and let's all hope we clinch against the Yankees so Aaron Boone and the rest of those dickwads can watch us celebrate on the field.

And to think it's all due to Craig Biggio's son. You were clearly just being hard on him because you saw this coming.

I was a fan in 1987, my first year of fandom for the Blue Jays...it's not over, let's win a couple more.

BoSox and Yanks will both retool this off season.

They will spend what they have to. Judge is still so elite but at 31 with recurring IL issues you have to wonder about that contract through 2031. Jesus.

Stanton may be cooked at 33 but who knows. With that power he has bounced back before. He can't stay on the field though either.

Torres has been a bright spot, Just don't play him at SS.

They are aging to f***. They must buy A535 rub by the pallet lol.

Its shocking they won 99 last yr. They need Severino and Rodon to be reliable next year. Good luck with that.

Yeah I don't see the Yankees rebuilding. Maybe they fire Boone and bring in a new manager. They will spend money this offseason and plan to compete again in 2024.

I bet the Yankees will go hard after Ohtani and likely will trade for Arenado or Machado.

The Yankees are the team that could worry me the most next season.

I would take Boone over JS.

I would love that. Very old and very expensive 85 win team.

Also, lol at Stanton in LF. If he could get through the season playing out there his OAA would rival Schwarber's.

Lol the Yankees won't trade for Machado who has 10 years of remaining contract left when they already have so many long term contract players like Stanton, Judge, Rodon, etc.

Machado is going to be another Stanton in a few years.

Posted

Yeah, that's one of the catches of the year.

Aaron Judge catches that without even jumping haha.

I don't think so. I expect Machado to age more like Boomstick. He has HOF in his sights.

Yeah, that's one of the catches of the year.

I think anybody with a good vertical needs to catch that ball. There was time to measure it and the wall is scalable. Not saying it wasn't a nice catch but I think there are a lot of running catches that don't look as sexy but are much more difficult.
