TEXAS LOSES TO THE A'S!

What a big series it will be against them. Jesus. Can my heart take it?!

Pumped, going Sunday. To set up that series is big for the Birds, get on the sticks!!!

Wow what a bitch. Who says that?

Seriously what a pathetic thing to say. Shows the loser mentality of today's pitchers. To think that they actually want to come out of the game. Roy Halladay turns in his grave.

If you felt fatigued you should have told your manager you f***ass simp.

It's fine if he thinks 90 pitches is about his limit at this point in the season, but that's a conversation you have behind closed doors.

Could have started having that conversation in the dugout. How's the manager supposed to know he's a weakass bitch unless he's informed?

That's the problem, he's shooting bullets, lol. Funny in itself, he threw everyone under the bus.

Wow Kirby looks like a huge douche here. Like BTS said that’s fine if everyone is on the same page but to say this to the media is not a good look.

He's likely just pissed at getting hooked earlier in the season where he felt himself as full go and tonight he felt gassed going into that inning... that's my theory.

Mad at the inconsistency of the Management maybe, lol.

Doesn’t really matter why. It’s the fact he did this to the media, showing up his manager. Not a good look

Kirby Back-peddling

Wow what a bitch. If it wasn't past the Deadline in my league I would be trading his ass.

Won't be on my team next year. That's for sure.

Unpopular opinion, but I don't think Kirby needed to to back peddle. IMO, there's nothing wrong with a starting pitcher who's aware that a large increase in IP from one year to the next often leads to reduced performance (which he's already seeing - last 4 starts haven't been good) and increases the chances of injury. He may also know they need him to be healthy and have something left if they are going to go deep in the playoffs. You could also take it as him praising the bullpen - suggesting he'd done his job and it was time to turn it over to their awesome bullpen.

Obviously a lot of fans want every pitcher to be this bulldog like Nolan Ryan, but I don't have an issue with someone who understands probabilities and realizes they aren't invincible. That said - I don't think he should have gone public with it - that was the issue. Have that discussion behind closed doors.

yea some people are weaklings, its the problem with that younger generation and also their parents (sorry those who I offended here who have kids in the 18-30 range) I don't blame them for being pathetic wiener bitches.

The problem is how he went about it. In today’s game nobody even blinks an eye when you pull a starter @ 78 pitches or through 4 1/3.

But you don’t show up your manager and teammates like that in your second year in the show. He definitely had a little sit down chat this morning

Many will tell you what maters is what you do between the lines - Kirby delivers in that way. Post game scrums are a waste of time anyway

The Yankees started using Michael King as an opener, then slowly stretched him out. Looks to me like they found a legit #3 starter. Today vs the Brewers.....

5 Innings

9 K's

1 BB

1 Run

79 pitches

Don't you love how we're going to face Cole and King in four of those six Yankee games?

Between that and the Rays, 5-7 might be optimistic for our final 12. It's going to be tough to get to 88 or 89 wins for this team. We have to get that win against the Royals tomorrow.
