I'm not surprised, they brought up Zeto this season after just 160 AB's or something in pro ball. It's aggressive, but if they feel he can handle it, good for them. Masyn Winn debuting today for the Cardinals too.

If the Angels FO was running the Jays, then Arjun would have started in place of Bichette the past 2 weeks.

Probably would have done better than DeJong.

That's ridiculous. What a s*** ass organization the Angels are.

What's wrong with this? There have been several players that have skipped the minor leagues all together. Granted it doesn't happpen often anymore, but it doesn't necessarily make them a s***** organization for doing it.

I agree

Their draft and development strategy is unusual because they basically admit they suck at developing talent so they just draft MLB ready guys all the time. But nothing inherently wrong with that. Maybe this guy is completely ready for his shot and has nothing to learn. I mean his K/BB rate and numbers seem to show this...

Reid Detmers had like 60 minor league innings

Zach Neto only had 200 minor league plate appearances

I know Marcus Semien was great for the Jays, but I don't think you'd look at his career and think he had a HOF level peak, yet he's actually approaching it.

He'll have like a 7 year peak of 38 WAR if he finishes this season at about the level he's playing at. If he plays one more season at this level or around it, his 7 year peak is going to be like 43.

His ability to adapt has been pretty great as well. He's still walking at the same rate but he's cut down his strikeouts significantly. His defense is still great. He could age pretty decently.

Also as an aside he has one of the biggest differences I've ever seen between his bWAR and fWAR (10 WAR difference). I think Mariano Rivera is the biggest I've seen (17 WAR) since he outperformed his peripherals his entire career.

Some AAA kid, lol. Have you become a degenerate gambler now, thought Allah didn't accept this behaviour?

When I cashed out, I bet $200 on the Jays for +900 to win the ALCS. I don’t think that’s very good odds for what it is, but gives me a stake

The World Series win was +$1800 but the Jays would likely be the underdog against whatever team, so didn’t see the value in that

one of the smartest and most durable players ever, i would guess

A few weeks ago they promoted him to AA and I thought that was weird - I don't recall a player moving this quickly. Now the majors LOL They are desparate, 7 games back of the last wild card spot

Schanuel’s promotion just 40 days after being drafted is the fastest rise to the Majors since Toronto’s Brian Milner back in 1978. Milner, promoted to the Majors just 17 days after being drafted, played in only two Major League games.

Yikes, not a good look on him

Apparently he’s just really dumb and it was an accident. Not sure why he was chucking the ball into the stands in the first place… but he did apologize and said he’s getting a gift for him. Also the ball was retrieved

This will be the Yankees 7th straight loss

Ouch

On hand hand, its hilarious. On the other, their first losing season in 30 years is probably going to lead to them doing everything they can to sign Ohtani.

FML you're right

Hopefully he just really wants to stay on the West coast or grow a beard or both

In a weak FA year they kind of have to sign him to fix that mess but on the other hand it will cost them doubly because Stanton is a 30 mil a year DH. They also have Judge who needs some DH days. Maybe they let Ohtani play the OF? Or eat 3/4 of Stanton's salary in a trade?

Or they could pivot and just sign 4 of the other major FAs other than Ohtani. Guys like Bellinger, Matt Chapman, Hader, Aaron Nola, etc.

Either way it's going to be a very old and very expensive team.

Jays should sign Ohtani.

Just give him 650 mil for 12 years and a bunch of Rogers stock as well as 5% equity in the team.

Also fire John Schneider and let Ohtani be the manager too.

He'd take this group of losers to the top.
