Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 A lot of recent failure wasn't his fault but Bring on Schneider.
Rafters Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Underachieving and not surprised.. wonder who the replacement will be
JG34 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Someone play a bongo beat for him on his way out the door.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2022 Author Posted July 13, 2022 Charlie seems like a good guy. He served his purpose and I’m not going to celebrate someone losing their job, but this is the right call. Something had to give and the Jays need someone else to lead this team.
Ray Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 A lot of recent failure wasn't his fault but Bring on Schneider. How long until people are calling for Schneiders head when they realize that most of the in-game decision making is the result of collaboration from the front office, high performance department, and analytics team? I give it about a couple weeks.
Dagagad Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Managers are always the scapegoat for bad front office performance. I don’t see how you fire the manager and not the pitching coach. That’s been the problem.
RustyTrombone Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 rejoice for our prayers have been answered
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Im actually surprised. Felt like more of this disappointing season has been on Atkins more than Montoyo.
BlueJays Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Holy f***ing s***. Best news of the season!!!!!!

I give it about a couple weeks. Any coach has an expiry date, so it is irrelevant how long before people are calling for his head, and more about what he wins until people start calling for his head. As it is the fans, or the grim reaper that will scream off with their heads.......

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Weoooo, Shatkins next That would be a terrible decision - at least the Shapiro portion.
BlueJaysFever Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Wow. I guess John Schneider will finish out the season?
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 That would be a terrible decision - at least the Shapiro portion. Yup. I couldn’t care less about Atkins, but Shapiro is everything you want in a President

I don’t see how you fire the manager and not the pitching coach. That’s been the problem. How do you assign blame for poor pitching? Is it the GM's fault for signing/trading/drafting s***** pitchers and not providing the necessary depth? Do you blame the players for poor performance that is below their projections and historic results? Do you blame the pitching coach for not - um...coaching good enough? I don't know how some of you assign blame onto one person so easily.
Blazeit420 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Sweet. Get rid of that damn jacket next.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Yup. I couldn’t care less about Atkins, but Shapiro I’d everything you want in a President Yep 100%. It's fine if they get rid of Atkins because of the major league level decisions, but Shapiro has to stay.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 The vladdy incident last night was the final straw???
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 Holy s***, never expected this mid-season

I’m saying pitching is the problem and the manager is way down the list of people who could be responsible for that.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 The vladdy incident last night was the final straw??? They probably made up their mind to do this a few days ago you would think? maybe
