I know we’ve got lucky with the pitching holding up early but I really can’t remember much luck this year in tight games. Just line out after line out when we need a hit.

Bo gets out to end the game again, shocker

Bo was being selfish. He should have walked so Vlad could have come up with the bases loaded and ground out to SS

He hit a lined shot to right, outside of hitting a HR there's not much more he could've done there

Succeed. Failure is failure. Doesnt matter if you hit it hard or good. The board deems it a failure lol

Yeah I realize the end result is what's most important, but outside of maybe Tony Gwynn how many guys can place the ball wherever they want to? All you can really do is try to smoke it and hope it's not right at someone

He's basically using sarcasm to prove his point of Vlad currently being a better hitter than the board gives him credit for.

Couldn't scrounge up evidence of "being more balanced" today as he did yesterday to feed the copium.

Um, he had 6 straight ABs over 101 MPH. More balanced is looking much better

I know, the board does not. If Vlad hit a 120 MPH screamer if Bo got on and the 3B had a diving stop and perfect throw from his back...they would be trolling that Vlad is trash, unclutch, shouldn't be up in that situation, regressed, fat, lazy, gained weight, something else had to be wrong, etc, etc, etc

Struggled to score runs today. I wonder if our idiot manager benching his hottest hitter messed with the mojo.

Guys you need to realize Kirk is a fat catcher. That's like a double negative against him in the durability department. He's like a 500-550 PA guy over the course of a full season and that's if he plays like 5 times a week. Catch 3x and dh 2x max, and at least 1 day off per week if not 2 when he's tired.

I don't think DH'ing would be too taxing on him, no reason he should ever have sat 2 out of the past 3 games

Looks like they settled on catching 2/5 of the rotation

Yes I agree that he should not be sitting twice in 3 games with a team off day in there as well. But they could just be getting him extra rest now so when we play the Yankees next weekend he plays all 3 games.

I'll say it again...

Raimel Tapia with his 69 wRC+, .600 OPS and -0.6 WAR

Has almost as many PAs this season as....

Alejandro Kirk with his 155 wRC+, .891 OPS and 1.9 WAR

And that's with Danny Jansen hurt for most of the season so far!

What the f***?

This is now totally on Shatkins and nobody else.

They tried hard all offseason to add a better left handed outfielder, the obvious need

Players like Brett Gardner literally turned down guaranteed millions from Toronto and preferred to not play

Tapia was the best they could do. They made the trade reluctantly at the end of the offseason and at least were able to con a decent prospect out of it

And Tapia has underperformed his projections

Let's not be stupid about this. The front office did nothing unreasonable

Ok fine, but how much longer are they going to continue giving ABs to Tapia that should be going to Kirk?

That ******** needs to stop.

Exactly. The fact that they missed wildly on both pieces of poop is one thing, but if they’re not DFA’ing them to cut their losses, can’t really put it on Chuckles

I wasn't against the trade when it happened, but it looks like it was a clear miss. Also, wtf is all this extended love for Zimmer? How much longer are scrubs like this get playing time in a highly competitive year before they move on? It's not like Zimmer is prime JBJ or Kermaier in CF to warrant him still being here. We have an obvious better option in Lukes that would make the bench and the team better but they're to f***ing stubborn to admit defeat and move on.

I think the trade was an obvious downgrade when it happened, just to provide a LHH to the roster and add an interesting prospect. The thought was most likley between Tapia would only play a little when an OF needed a day or or DHd. I think with Teoscar back we are seeing the playing time that was suppose to be for Tapia. Pinch hit and 1 or 2 games a week max. Zimmer is one that provides little help that can be found by a better hitter innthe minors or even Biggio at this point. I'm guessing they wanted to take a shot at fixing him because of his batted ball data shows promise if he hits the ball
