Laika Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 I wasn't against the trade when it happened, but it looks like it was a clear miss. Also, wtf is all this extended love for Zimmer? How much longer are scrubs like this get playing time in a highly competitive year before they move on? It's not like Zimmer is prime JBJ or Kermaier in CF to warrant him still being here. We have an obvious better option in Lukes that would make the bench and the team better but they're to f***ing stubborn to admit defeat and move on. I can't justify the rope Zimmer has received. He is a lost cause. If he's on the roster he should literally never start a game
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Ok fine, but how much longer are they going to continue giving ABs to Tapia that should be going to Kirk? That ******** needs to stop. Tapia's process statistics and indicators are not awful. I don't think he should ever start over Kirk but he's a useful piece I think and its disingenuous to even put their playing time side by side because Alejandro Kirk is not an outfielder
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 If you are mad about Tapia playing too much the things to criticize are: Springer too many days off from CF? Biggio should be a full-time OF from day 1? f*** Teoscar for getting hurt? f*** Gurriel for being s*****? Or of course "Toronto should have been way more aggressive in their pursuit of a 4th OF"
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2022 Author Posted June 12, 2022 It's getting pretty hard to justify why the lefty-hitting Nathan Lukes hasn't yet gotten a chance. I understand you don't want to trial run potential AAAA-type guys in a contending year but Zimmer and Tapia have gotten way too much playing time as it is and they've already trialed Vinny Capra. Lukes was excellent in ST (including great defensive plays) and has been good in AAA. Tell Zimmer to f*** off and bring him up, I don't care about the roster implications. And whenever Tapia's hot-ish streak comes to an end, banish him to the shadow realm as well and call up Samad.
