Bryan Abreu, Whitley, Hunter Brown. I dunno. Houston always has arms...

Abreu, meh. Hunter Brown maybe, but he's wild. Whitley is a basket case.

Pirates have a need for a catcher but I doubt Jansen would get it done for Bednar, simply because of the age (not sure when their window of contention is) and history of injury.

Mostly he just doesn't line up with the Pirates contention window which will be like.... 2027 if everything goes right lmao.

Hunter brown is the guy I’d want. Probably too wild to start right now but could develop into that. Would help in the pen immediately.

Jansen only has 2 years of control left after this season, so I think you can rule out any teams either currently rebuilding or planning to rebuild. He's likely more difficult to move for that reason. Any team in any situation would take Kirk or Moreno, but those two are (at least Kirk is) the least likely to be moved right now. Jansen to the Astros would be awful for the Jays since there's a chance of possibly seeing them in the playoffs (3rd WC team has to face the Astros if they advance to DS). Hard to find a good match because the Jays would be trading a big leaguer during a competitive window. Not sure they'd even want prospects for him unless they were ready to contribute right away.

If the Jays were going to move Moreno it would have been for someone like Jose Ramirez. I don't think there is a difference making talent that is realistically available right now that they'd move Moreno for, unless Soto or Ohtani suddenly become available in a month.

Hey Guys,

Not being from the Toronto area i try and listen to the Blair and Barker show on a daily basis on the SN590 site. They have not posted shows for over a week. Any idea of what is going on there? Are they doing live shows still?

I dunno but you're far better off getting your baseball information here.

This sounds like good news. Are you wondering if there's a party to celebrate?

What did we give away Joe Musgrove for?

We got J.A. Happ, Brandon Lyon, and David Carpenter from the Astros for Francisco Cordero, Ben Francisco, Joe Musgrove, Carlos Perez, David Rollins, Asher Wojciechowski and Kevin Comer.

I suppose that would be better than listening to 2 homeless guys argue about squirrels.

But like... barely.

What would it actually take to get Montas - is it possible?

Currently taking a no-hitter into the 8th against Ms

See Berrios deal

My guess would be something like Orelvis + Tiedemann is what they would ask for, and the Jays would probably not want to do that.

Groshans + Robberse + another?

I think some other team pays more and gets him

And losing, don’t forget to add that part. (Yes the A’s suck)

We need winners on this team not losers

I don't think I would either if asking price is Orelvis + Tiedemann. I'm a huge Tiedemann fan, and think he's legit. I know pitching prospects can break your hearts, but Tiedemann looks special. He's been as dominant in the minors as Manoah and Pearson had been, but at a younger age. He has no health flags or concerns with his deliver that I remember reading. Good size for a pitcher and throws from left side. I'd want more than 1.5 years of control if Tiedemann is on the table. On top of that, adding Orelvis, and it's an easy no for me. I might be in the minority?

No. I don't want to destroy our farm either tbh and Tiedemann is definitely looking too good to give up.

I am kind of scared of going all-in considering all the behemoths in contention this year; feels like we already gave up way too much for pieces that aren't really working out this year.

I rather have a rolling competitive window for the foreseeable future (whatever they decide Vladdy's contract to be) than go all-in for one or two years.

But again that might just be me, this might be how WS races go. I haven't seen it in action :P.

Those are my thoughts as well. Tiedemanm is close to approaching the same status as Moreno where I would only send him out in trade for an elite player with control.

Zero concern about trading Orelvis. The red flags on him are rather large, all or nothing approach might work with minor leaguers, not getting anywhere with MLB pitchers.

Tiedeman would be a bit harder to take, but pitchers, man. If that's what it takes for Castillo or Montas, I'm on board.

You can’t be a good team for a long time and do berrios type deals every year. Manoah, gausman and berrios need to be good enough on their own.

Like, Jesus Christ, do we have to deal 2 top 100 prospects per year because we can’t develop pitching. We aren’t even getting true aces for that price.

I'd maybe consider trading for a Montas/Castillo type, but only if one of the top 3 members of the rotation were to get hurt and end up missing the remainder of the season.

Yeah Orelvis is starting to lose his shine quite a bit. His hit tool looks like it's being exposed quite a bit in AA this season. The biggest saving grace that he is still very young for the level.
