Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 Boy how good would Jose Ramirez look on this team right about now? I wonder what the asking price was...
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 What are the chances we trade for Villar. I don’t think it’s a huge long shot. It would probably make all the people here (more than a few) happy that wanted him this off-season.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 They also like to get RPs that aren’t doing well, which makes sense in a vacuum to buy low, but less sense in the stretch run of a playoff race During an offseason, you can target buy low RP options and hope they have a great ST and start to the season. Nothing wrong with that. Agree 100% with what you said about struggling relievers midseason. Down the stretch you need guys performing, not guys who are still figuring it out or complete dumpster fires (e.g. Brad Hand last season).

Probably would have made the playoffs last year if they DIDN’T trade for Hand. The dude cost us several games

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 Trading for relievers is such a f***ing crapshoot. Last year the Chisox traded for Kimbrel who sucked balls. Just one example of many. God forbid the Jays trade any valuable pieces / prospects for f***ing relievers.

You’re getting them for a very sss in terms of the stretch run. Hitters have extreme splits too

I’d have to see studies on it. Or is it just because they get a sss of work into the season? So if say a batter had 200ABs in 3 consecutive seasons, would they be less volatile? Idk E: also the internet isn’t the place for proper etiquette
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 "douche"? Grow up mate Relievers are the most volatile assets, even you should know that Hahaha... nah, he's an idiot. See, he just doubled down on their volatility. He's good for laughs, as is gruber92.

I said I didn’t know. I’m just not statistical cucks like you guys are. Like let’s just take run probability as a concrete number and not consider if the guys coming up have .900 OPS vs .600 OPS. Let’s just say it’s the same

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 Jays are gonna have to trade for some relievers even to make the playoffs at this point. Betting on this pen to hold water the rest of the year would be a mistake.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 Do your own f***ing research man Don’t really need to, mate. Take all of our SP outside of Manoah and split their season into 3rds and 4ths and you’ll find some extreme splits at year end.

I sincerely think you are getting more and more stupid Are you having recurrent concussions or something?

Listen man, I’m not doubting you. I wouldn’t doubt you have some impressive abilities to remember stuff like Thomas v Kane case law circa 1955. I couldn’t. So kudos to you. You just lack any sort of creativity gene to expand on the stuff you spoon feed yourself. So once you work on that, maybe a creativity workshop or something- or Tony Robins… then you can put your own twist on the sabr stuff and give some of the people that used to be on here that are now advising mlb teams, that you’re ready to take the next step. Not a career or anything, but maybe get papers on someone’s desk or something

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 It might sound crazy but Alejandro Kirk might be our best player lol. Better than Vlad or Bo even. Bump

You make less than a civil servant and your GM with a four letter name just ignores you and trades for Raimel Tapia

Wasn’t saying you’d want to take ditch your career for that, just get your research on someone’s desk.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 Like building a model car or something. You don’t quit for day job for that
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 Yimi's injured... Oh for f***s sakes. This s***** bullpen is about to get even worse.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 Gotta be getting close to seeing Eisert or Hernandez no? Eisert - 11.28 K/9 - 2.39 BB/9 - 3.01 xFIP Hernandez - 12.60 K/9 - 3.16 BB/9 - 3.03 xFIP Although I guess they brought Shaun Anderson up to the taxi squad lol
