Is there a reason why Vazquez didn't break camp with the MLB team?

 

He has an option, I'm pretty sure that's it. Saucedo did have a very nice spring, but spring was short and there wasn't enough time to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Yeah I'd like to see Vazquez on the team and I can't imagine that Borucki will be out much longer either. Hopefully those two can be effective.

Vasquez does intrigue me, I'm concerned that Borucki may just not be able to figure it out, but he's got a good arm from the left side.

I also like Kirk DHing a lot but mixing Springer in there once or twice a week is smart too.

 

Agree. I love using the DH slot to get Springer, Guerrero, Bichette, etc. off their feet. I would just save it for days that Kirk is catching. Guys like Tapia are going to get way too many ABs otherwise.

Don't worry Junior. I'm with you. All hope is lost. Every one of our starting pitchers has imploded because Pete Walker was too hammered to help them. Question is what do we do now? Do you think we should rebuild? Or a 2 year retool?

 

This is kind of similar to what happened in 2013 (Ricky Romero, Josh Johnson, Brandom Morrow implosions).

 

However this is worse with 5 implosions, at least then Buerhle and Dicky stabalized, and then we supplemented with Hutchison (who himself imploded), Stroman, Estrado and Price. If we can just salvage 2 of the starting 5 we can still have hope for 2024. Which 2 do you think can be saved?

Plenty of posters incessantly say bad things about the team, but at least they back it up with some level of facts and logic (Hi Krylian).

 

Nobody has any time for ridiculous, emotional, and nonsensical takes, hence the name calling. We've all said something stupid. Take the L and move on.

If anyone is confused about Junior and my assessment of 5 implosions, when only 3 have happened so far, keep in mind that the root casue is Pete Walker's drinking problem. Junior is one of the sharpest minds on the board and has recognize the season ending implosion of all 5. Even though Manoah and Kikuchi haven't pitched yet, there is no way they make it out of the 2nd inning against the Yankees.

I'm not the one using these terms in casual conversation, you seem to be the expert here so explain away since you seem to be so knowledgeable on the subject. BTW I like Trevor Bauer just fine and think most of what he does on social media is largely to the benefit of baseball as a whole. However I also recognize that he is a highly flawed individual who is largely his own worst enemy and not somebody fit to be placed on a pedestal.

It might sound crazy but I feel most confident with Manoah on the mound out of all of our starters. And 2 of those starters got $100 M+ contracts this off-season.
