Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Romano out with a tight forearm, f*** me! He also said if we lose him, others have to step up.
Jaysareus Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 They have to pull off a trade . Trade gurriel and Reese Maguire for a decent bullpen arm
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 They dont want to...but seriously.....Hatch and Murphy need to be 100% brought up to the pen when healthy
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Gurriel for Luis Castillo. Struggling player for struggling player
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Romano is out, so let's go to the dumpster fire pen earlier instead of stretching the starter out (only 83 pitches) a bit longer. Perfect sense.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Gurriel for Luis Castillo. Struggling player for struggling player Reds laugh and hang up. They don't even need an OF, Winker, Castellanos, and Naquin are all doing well

Perfect sense. I just can't believe Atkins can sit back and watch all of this. Listen, it's fine practice to look at the book and see that Strip usually gets shelled 3rd time through, but you need to have the common sense to realize your BP is s***, mostly because they are being overused and overexposed, and stop doing this s***. And if not, then Atkins, get off your ass and do something so the BP pieces Charlie will mishandle are at least, better quality.

Thing is, he already went through the top of the order 3 times through. It was an egregious hook.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 With how often Charlie goes to the pen, it really doesn't surprise me that every RP who does well on this team ends up getting hurt. This is the same man who saw Ken Giles' arm almost come off the bone and still let him throw a few more times before taking him out. The Jays could be up 7-1 and he'll go to the best healthy RP on the team in the 9th. He's just really, really bad.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Jeez glad I tuned out while the score was 5-1. Looks like I missed another fun game with crazy charlie behind the wheel. Bullpen literally won us a bunch of games in April, now it’s bleeding multiple games each week.

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 This team f***in blows! Where the f*** is Springer already? Once he's healthy, I'd do one better and call-up Moreno at the same time, to take the pressure off his debut. In the meantime, we need BP help bad. Call-up Hatch, Murphy & Snead (who's dominating), and DFA Edwards and Beasley. Then hopefully 2 of that crew can provide some high leverage for us.

Makes way too much sense for them to actually do this. We'll probably get some other scrubs instead

We'll probably get some other scrubs instead Murphy and Hatch are on the 40-man so no need to clear space. And they clear space regardless by DFAing any of Edwards/Beasley/Chatwood. They probably keep Chatwood in hopes that Pete can figure him out. Edwards and Beasley have trash stuff though, so no need to keep them.

Point still stands though, DFA Beasley and Edwards and active them then. Chatwood then DFA'd once one of Merryweather/Borucki/Cole returns.

Moreno, lol... hit the brakes, I find that highly unlikely, not anytime soon anyway.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Author Posted June 12, 2021 If you needed further proof of how bad the Blue Jays got robbed today: Oooooooof.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Moreno, lol... hit the brakes, I find that highly unlikely, not anytime soon anyway. We'll see. The BA crew all mentioned on their latest podcast that he's major league ready now and hinted he could be a Top 10 prospect in the game by July's rankings. He's closer than most of us think.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 (edited) We'll see. The BA crew all mentioned on their latest podcast that he's major league ready now and hinted he could be a Top 10 prospect in the game by July's rankings. He's closer than most of us think. Same thing's were said about Martin, Torkelson, Vaughn, Brujan, Franco, Kelenic, Big Nate, etc... Also, Norris said that, I'm sure he'll move up in the rankings, he also said... "But right now he needs to work on commanding a pitching staff. That might be the biggest issue at this point but that will come with time." If he continues as he is we might see him slipped onto the roster in late August if we're in contention, I think him/Martin and another SP would possibly be called up in September, I think they cut the unlimited roster promotions down to 3 or 4, IIRC, so it'll have to be justifiable. Again, we won't see him anytime soon. You mentioned calling him up now, there's no way that happens, IMO. ETA: Oops I was wrong, it has dropped from unlimited to the 40 man, my bad. https://www.mlbdailydish.com/2019/3/15/18266127/mlb-mlbpa-new-roster-rules-september-call-ups Edited June 12, 2021 by Spanky99
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Nah, we had them beat tonight, this is why Chuckles needs to go or the FO start making moves, through FA or the Bisons staff. I agree the Red Sox are a good hitting team though, they were given a gift. I hear ya but you know what they say, good teams find ways to win games and bad teams find ways to lose games. Boston relievers pitched out of tight situations while Jays relievers crumbled, Boston ran the bases well while Jays made some crucial late game brain farts, Bo making perhaps a game losing error on an easy ground out ETC. So while it seemed like Jays were well positioned to win, they simply couldn't play fundamental ball when it mattered. Definitely a lot of blame to go around for the performance last night.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Our offense was better today.....16 hits to 8....we got hits with RISP and didn't score runs because of this mickey mouse park. We had 5 doubles turned to singles....just bad f***ing luck. I think we might be cursed. There's a lot more to baseball than the number of hits. Blaming the park is ignorant cause some of those hits off the wall would have been routine fly balls in other parks... It goes both ways. You could tell the Jays were playing scared tho, giving gift after gift to Boston while their momentum continued to grow. Jays really need a vet on the team to lead the way. Maybe it'll be Springer when he gets on the field. I don't know much about him personality wise tho.
