THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Normally you would think so....with Charlie managing, not so sure. There was zero reason to pull stripling given the state of our bullpen. This. That was strike 1. Stripling was at 80 pitches.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 who keeps the manager accountable for his mistakes? This is rhetorical I hope?
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 It's becoming glaring how incompetent our FO is when it comes to taking actions Yep. At this point, you can't really blame the puppet, only the puppet master who keeps doing the show with a failing puppet.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Buck's doing his old man yells at cloud, lol.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Chatwood cost us this game. f*** Charlie for bringing him in with runners on
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Because it wasn't a save situation right Charlie...? Ughh.. Montoyo is actually a poor mans Buck Showalter haha. I honestly don't mind a manager with no MLB managing experience if it's a team full of vets, but with a team as young and inexperienced as the Blue Jays, I'd like to see a manger with some experience at the helm. I honestly have to wonder what Shapiro and Atkins are thinking with this Montoyo guy. He's clearly an idiot, no prior managing experience. Why are they so loyal to this guy?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Pretty sure Romano has a blister issue Is he injured for sure?
Cynical Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Yeah I wonder if Dumtoyo has something incriminating on Shapiro and Atkins at this point. Either that or those two are actually managing this team.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 16 hits and can't score runs, I can't even put this on the crappy pen. Thats on the crappy stadium lol
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 This. That was strike 1. Stripling was at 80 pitches. As much as I dislike Montoyo, the problem is that a lot of these mangers are handcuffed by the advanced statistics and ordered from above to follow them at all costs. It's like with Cash pulling Snell so early last World Series.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 16 hits and can't score runs, I can't even put this on the crappy pen. Green Monster, bro. Chuckles blew this game, the invalid.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Oh, your best reliever never pitched in a close game you lost by one run? Managerial malpractice. The Showalter special
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 seriously...this mickey mouse park cost us 5 doubles and 4 or 5 runs tonight....just demoralizing. Fenway's an epic park. No funner stadium to be at in the league. Don't be mad just cause the Jays sucked
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Our pitching depth is just not good enough. Pitchers get hurt. You can't call up Ty Tice and sign Carl's JR off the street. You should have better guys than that in the minors. I dunno man. The entire bullpen is on the DL, basically. Nobody other than the Dodgers has depth to cover that. Maybe the Rays, I dunno. In some sense I'm actually impressed that guys like Castro and Payamps have been as useful as they are.

If Romano's injured, the trickle down effect makes some sense save for not letting Strip finish the 6th. f*** man, I'm heated. lol
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 Lost a game in which they had 16 hits I have no words
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 12, 2021 Posted June 12, 2021 To be fair, Boston's the real deal and have a helluva offense. We got beat by the better team, no shame in that. At least we kept it competitive.

Team Canada faces Haiti starting at 5. There's no way my attention won't be on team Canada tomorrow once the game starts. I need a time out.

I agree the Red Sox are a good hitting team though, they were given a gift.

At least we kept it competitive. Our offense was better today.....16 hits to 8....we got hits with RISP and didn't score runs because of this mickey mouse park. We had 5 doubles turned to singles....just bad f***ing luck. I think we might be cursed.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2021 Author Posted June 12, 2021 Montoyo just said Romano was out with a tight forearm. Welp.
