A the same time I don't see how you can say his stuff looked great.

I refuse to believe his stuff was good in a start where he didn't have a single whiff. There are lots of pitchers with no command who still get strikeouts. His slider, changeup and curveball weren't fooling anyone today. How can anyone say this looked great?

Agree but the Astros also strikeout the fewest of any team. Not a good matchup for him

Some people believe Biggio isnt have a bad season too. There must be some undercover Jays employees on these boards because the blind optimism is concerning at times lol.

Pearson looks overrated. He was throwing tops 96 mph and couldn't locate his fastball at all.

I saw one 98. Last season it seemed as the game went on he was able to add a few ticks of velocity in later innings, he certainly didn't last long enough today for that to happen. And I doubt he was letting the ball go with maximum intensity as he attempted to guide the ball into the strike zone.

Let Pearson pitch legit 2 months as a starter in AAA before ever trying him as a Starter in the majors again.

Pearson threw smoke coming out of the pen. Perhaps using a starter might be good? Have Nate start the 2nd inning

Pearson will never figure it out Tabby. Not happening with that guy

That's exactly what Dave Dombrowski said to himself before he traded Randy Johnson in 1989. Don't be Dave Dombrowski. Have some patience.

Pitching the same in AAA and MLB will not get the same results...

Ya lol. There's a reason why not every top prospect from the minors becomes elite at the big league level. It's a whole different world. For every pitcher that pans out, there are MANY more that don't. MLB bullpens are filled with failed starters.

His next start would be in Dunedin against the Phillies. Just tell him its the Clearwater Threshers. He's pitched in Dunedin enough maybe that'll be enough to overcome his mental block. Not an away crowd either. Smaller stadium.

I was talking about Spanky.

I'll try and be better, King. My bad, I shouldn't have used great, fine or similar works. I'm not worried, you?

No problem Spanky. I will give you a pass this time.

You think the heart won't be pounding and the nerves won't be tingling 2 months from now when he comes up again? It's the mental aspect. Going down and dominating isn't going make his next appearance any easier. It just delays the process He need reps at the MLB level.

Sounds about right. There is a limit on how bad he can be though but if we can try to work through Bo and Biggio s***ing the bed defensively, I'm sure there will be some leeway for Pearson.

You do know that young players can only improve defensively if management doesn't panic and actually gives them a chance to work on their defense right?
