DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Is this real life? Not sure but I like this reality.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Got to love Pearson being back in the rotation. I'm not going to lie, but I'm looking forward to and more optimistic about Manoah making his first MLB start. I get a sense he's the better "pitcher" and could prove to be the more durable of the two. Anyway you slice it, it's exciting to see we're on the verge of adding two studs to the rotation.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Over/Under on players hitting the IL after today's game: 1.5

Doesn't it feel like that people always like the new shiny toy? I haven't seen Manoah pitch a meaningful game but I'm definitely intrigued based on the hype he's getting. To make the jump he's seeming to make so fast is a great sign. Edited May 9, 2021 by Jays24

I love them both. Both have true ace potential imo. I think Pearson's fastball kind of blew up and he is still figuring it out command wise. Manoah had a more natural progression i think and has been able to command his fastball more consistently. If Pearson stays healthy and keeps commanding the strike zone he has a higher upside
Jgarza868899 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Tough lineup for Pearson to debut against but gotta do what you gotta do. Hope he holds his own

The org is in a really good spot, lots of young talent. Shatkins haters disappeared.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 (edited) Did you not see him in ST? I saw a bit but I did say "meaningful game". ST numbers are pretty useless for the most part. Players are just going up there to work off the rust and don't really game plan like they do in a regular season game so you can catch them off guard. Edited May 9, 2021 by Jays24
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Not an ideal matchup for Pearson. Good luck!
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Mama Gurriel with that duo Jays Astros jersey Big Nate on the bump with Mama Pearson in the stands Awesome
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Very excited to see Pearson. Almost the same buzz for me when Springer made his debut.

Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 With all the anticipation, Nate will probably get blown up lol
BlueJays Verified Member Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Semien cracking up already with Greinke pitch
