Ex Player Verified Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Its meaningless, but still a nice comeback win
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 I'm still in awe that our lineup can look decent without Springer, Vlad, Semien and Biggio in there.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 I hate when Kay gets erratic... he has good stuff.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 Kay's so lucky that the Yankees haven't scored yet. He's getting hit hard. Also, this website keeps crashing today. Figure your stuff out pls lol.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 That was a nice double by Gurriel....pitch was almost on the dirt and he still got to it.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 multiple pitches within the zone for the Jays pitchers that would have been strike three called balls. A ball 4 or 5 inches off the plate to Kirk called strike 3! These umps are in mid season form!
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Excellent dp turned by Bichette and Semien
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Good performance from Stripling. Just not sure how much to take from it since there's massive difference between the Tigers spring training lineup vs Yankees lineup he'll probably face in the regular season.

Take nothing from it, just as you should take nothing from the spring training performance of any MLB veteran. Look at their performance history over several years in MLB, instead.
Ray Verified Member Posted March 28, 2021 Author Posted March 28, 2021 Warmoth has been hitting the ball hard all spring.

Ray Verified Member Posted March 28, 2021 Author Posted March 28, 2021 Bye bye Reese? He’s gonna be traded for a PTBNL in days I would imagine.
Ray Verified Member Posted March 28, 2021 Author Posted March 28, 2021 So Borucki touched 98 mph on his fastball today, alongside a 90 mph cutter/slider. He’s still having trouble harnessing the new found velocity and movement, but if he can figure out how to locate effectively, he really could be a weapon out of the bullpen.

Wow, how does that happen? Wasn't he a 90-91 mph fastball guy a couple years ago?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Wow, how does that happen? Wasn't he a 90-91 mph fastball guy a couple years ago? Think he was up to 94 or 95 before going down to injury. Adding a few mph out of the pen isn't unusual, so it wouldn't surprise me.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Wow, how does that happen? Wasn't he a 90-91 mph fastball guy a couple years ago? He averaged 92 as a starter, touching 94 or 95 sometimes like Abom said. It's very common for pitchers who are starters to add velocity once they start coming out of the bullpen since you can throw every pitch at max effort.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Looks like we’re starting the season with this rotation: Hyun-Jin Ryu Steven Matz Ross Stripling Tanner Roark TJ Zeuch Depth/LR: Trent Thornton Julian Merryweather Tyler Chatwood? IL: Robbie Ray (Stairs) Nate Pearson (Groin) Thomas Hatch (Inflammation)

Ray probably only misses 1 or 2 starts and Zeuch has been good when called upon so we'll be fine until something more long term crops up.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
