Pinkie discomfort is the most pussy ass sounding injury you could come up with.

Even the Yankees broadcast had fun with it lol.

Thank god Grichuk/Tellez are our 9th/10th players so we can plug these holes better than past years.

112.5 mph single off the bat of Stanton there. Wow.

He's going to be tough to pitch to for about 10 games before he inevitably goes on the DL for the entire season.

Thornton looks pretty good. His delivery seems a little smoother and less herky jerky. Seems like he's trimmed down some as well.

Removing the shrapnel from his elbow probably helped as well.

Only if you believe elbows are important when it comes to pitching.

That inning literally lasted 2 minutes....Woods-Richardson works FAST

Disposed of Jay Bruce in 3 pitches with a dirty changeup

Nice K on Judge

He's pitched less than 30 innings in High-A, and yet looks incredibly poised and decently polished.

Doesn't seem like he has a great fastball in terms of velo and spin, but everything plays up because of his ability to command. Kind of reminds me of Mike Soroka who also has below average velocity and spin, but obviously still really effective with his pitchability and command.

His breaking stuff looks quite good though.

I think that makes it 8 shutout innings from SWR against the Yankees this spring Edited by Ray

Soroka would be a high percentile outcome for Simeon, I would definitely take that. Simeon CAN reach back for 97 but he throws a lot of two-seamer/sinkers with movement which naturally has a lower RPM then 4 seamers / “rising fastballs”.

He’s got 5 pitches and his control graded as high as 70 on the scale, which is pretty ridiculous considering he’s been 3 years younger than his competition in the minors. He’s already showcased several good off-speed pitches this game. I can see the comparisons as they’re both very advanced for age during their development, but they’re built kinda differently. Simeon is a pitchability finesse arm that leans more on the changeup and curveball for Ks. Soroka is also taller and more built at this point of their careers. Soroka is more of a sinker/slider arm and a groundball machine workhorse type (when healthy) rather than a strikeout artist, though his 2600-2700 rpm slider was barely touchable at his best.

Anthony Castro was an interesting waiver pickup. Touching 2500 rpm with his fastball paired with a 2900 rpm curve, both with above average velo.

Biggio who? Lol

Nice play.

Is it just me or does SWR look a little slow to the plate? I think he'll need to pick up the pace there.
