I like this kid Castro, electric stuff.

lol... I jinxed his ass.

Yeah we almost lost him when we signed Chatwood I believe, but he cleared waivers and his stuff looks good

Yeah, he's struggling bigly with command, expected as he's graded with below average command, right now.

As long as the control is good, the command will come.

Arden Zwelling

@ArdenZwelling

Per club, Steven Matz threw 60 pitches in a sim game at Blue Jays complex today. Matz faced 15 hitters, struck out seven; gave up a hit, didn't walk anyone.

"He was outstanding," said Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo. "He was really, really, really good."

Really expecting at least one or two of

Matz

Ray

Chatwood

Stripling

To be solid starting rotation contributors this season

Obviously the front office feels the same as they didn't land anyone else

..

Pretty sure I read somewhere that they told Chatwood they plan to use him in high leverage situations as a reliever, and so he's prepared himself to step into that role.

But yeah, Matz and Ray look pretty damn good so far.

Ray has looked really encouraging. His velocity has been good and got squeezed on a couple of his walks. He's been really good. I don't want to look too much into spring training. There's always hope this time of year. Fingers crossed though.

I will bet my top dollar that we acquire a front end rotation piece prior to the trade deadline.

BTW... has Stripling pitched this spring? Any word on him as to whether 2020 was a fluke off year?

It's only spring but at least Ray, Matz and Roark have been encouraging considering what happened in 2020. Going 4/4 on bounce back years would be unreal but probably a pipedream lol.

Max Scherzer.......

Hoping the Mets and Braves are out in front and Washington lets him go

Nate Pearson's inability to stay healthy is troubling. Seems to always be something with him. Hope it's an aberration, but there have been enough examples to, at the very least, raise an eyebrow.

lol sick lineup for a rare TV game

Hopefully they put out a good starting unit to make it fun to watch.

They'll have a few regulars and pitching. Most of the squad won't take the bus ride.

Hahaha... called it, we won't see stacked lineups unless we're at home, but SN doesn't air them.

I don't think today's game is on TV but I believe there is a NYY audio feed. Might be a good one to follow. I suppose the static video feed will be up though? I might try to get the NYY audio to line up with that video.

Manoah vs. Deivi Garcia

Then SWR, CJ Van Eyk, and Adam Kloffenstein all slated to throw per twitter people.

Who tweets who's pitching? f***, can't find it.

NVM... found it, Zoinks, Bergen and Payamps.

This is the worst TV lineup imaginable. You basically just tune in to watch Ryu, Tellez, and Teoscar for four innings or whatever.

The Jays Twitter people are losing their minds over Manoah

He looked good yesterday.

This years inefficiency is handling the "missing" development year. The 'moneyball' teams will

a) have given their Manoahs and Groshans the best possible replacement activity's for the missing 2020 minor league season

B) identify who took a big step and who didn't properly

Not saying either took a big step, or is ready... just saying out of the hundreds of minor league players some of them did take a bit step in 2020, the information is just hidden. The smart teams know that information regarding their own players.

I wonder who they brought along on the bench.

I don't need to see the big boppers but give me the prime prospects.
