BTS Community Moderator Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 The Reds are a shameful organization. Traded Iglesias for cap relief a year ago, and this year they kick the offseason off by punting Wade Miley because he makes $10M. Poor Votto.

He could have got himself traded any time but he didn't seem to want to Bad thing is if they kept convincing him they were going to be competitive while he was there

BTS Community Moderator Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Mets top them all tho No GM No manager Infighting Only 2 SP signed for 2022 And they get Cano back for 24 million dollars next year Holy s*** I forgot about Cano lol
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Holy s*** I forgot about Cano lol Me too until heard his name on MLB Network Do they play him at 2B? They have too many 1B/DH types aready and there may or may not be a DH spot for anyone
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Miley would have been a nice addition for the Jays. But there was no way he was going to fall that far down/up the standings. Why didn't the Reds at least try to trade him?

glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Seeing how the Reds operate, if the Jays took Moustakas, they could probably get Castillo for free.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Do the Giants want a free agent older more experienced catcher? Or one of our young ones?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Do the Giants want a free agent older more experienced catcher? Or one of our young ones? Probably neither. I'd assume they're perfectly happy rolling with Bart and Casali.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Mets qualify Conforto and Syndergaard. This will make signing Thor to a one-year deal a lot harder to justify. Also, Conforto might seriously consider accepting. This is essentially the one-year "prove it" deal the Jays gave to Semien.

Yeah Syndergaard prob just accepts the QO and tries to put together a healthy season
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 I feel like Thor could get 100M on the open market. Yeah, I don't know about that much, but I'd be shocked if he takes the QO.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 That's a pretty insulting offer for a player the caliber of Correa, he very well may end up with twice the total contract in free agency. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Houston goes hard after Semien instead if that's their actual budget.

He'll get somewhere around 300M on twice the term. That's a we tried fans offer, lol.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 What would Lindor get rn, all things considered (coming off same season but as FA)
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 What would Lindor get rn, all things considered (coming off same season but as FA) lol, c-poop... depends on what team's projections/value would be, certainly less than that ridiculous contract the Mets gave him. He still projects to be near a 5 win SS.

That's a we tried fans offer, lol. It's sad that a front office would attempt to pander to the mouth breathers in their fanbase like this. While not nearly as bad I get shades of the Oakland ultimate lowball offer to Semien after the pandemic shortened 2020 season where they offered him 12.5 million with 10 million of it deferred over 10 years worth of $1 million installments. I prefer how our front office works, they didn't bother offering Price a contract after 2015 because they knew they wouldn't even be in the same area code as the offers he would be receiving in free agency.

Yeah I can see Correa being more than a little upset by that.
