Yes, Jose Reyes

Right, forgot about that. Feels kind of different now than 5 years ago or whenever that happened I guess. Ozuna might also be convicted, which Reyes wasn't because his wife dropped charges.

No one laid charges, and the tape didn't catch it, no?

Yeah I guess, but allegedly the hotel security called police so there were definitely witnesses

Domingo German also assaulted his wife at a team function and is somehow still playing for the same team it happened with.

Odubel Herrera.

Julio Urias was arrested for shoving a woman in a parking lot, but the charges were dropped and the woman denied he shoved her.

Right, lots of recent cases. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Ozuna come back but he’s definitely done for THIS season. Maybe half of next. Who knows.

Shoved, I still laugh at that. Just a pissing match, really.

I dunno, this one still feels different. It's going to be tough to come back from the police walking in on you strangling your wife and then slamming her against a wall.

Dude, he's done! Cooked!

Has anyone come back to baseball after assaulting their wife, with no doubts about the fact that they did it?

Domingo German's was done in public and he's back, so I don't think Ozuna's career is over. His 2021 season? Yes. As long as the Braves can't void his contract (and if they tried the MLBPA would fight it), then I would imagine they'd bring him back next season when the dust settles. Whether they should or not is another story, but the money is guaranteed, and as long as the Braves have to pay it, they'll want a return on it.

The production value of KBO broadcasts compared to MLB broadcasts is hilarious. It's like watching a game 20 years in the future.

Kevin Gausman seems like a legit Ace. Imagine if Toronto had landed him for a Tanner Roark AAV...

He was very wise to take a Semien style one year deal. So was Semien now that I mention it

Atlanta Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna was arrested on Saturday on felony assault charges. He initially stood accused of choking his wife and throwing her against a wall.

On Sunday, additional troubling details regarding the alleged incident emerged.

According to an affidavit obtained by WSB-TV in Atlanta, Ozuna’s wife “told police that she and her husband were having an argument over infidelity before he choked her and threw her against a wall.”

Ozuna’s wife further told authorities that she was mid-shower when her husband came into the bathroom, took both of her cellphones and refused to give them back after she confronted him.

“He threatened to kill her and she threatened to call 911,” the affidavit said. “She took his cellphone from a table and called 911.”

The affidavit then went into grislier details.

“She told the 911 operator that said accused was coming back and grabbed a large kitchen knife from a drawer,” it read. “Accused re-entered the house via the garage door and into the kitchen where she was. He continued to yell and verbally abuse her. Therefore, said accused held the knife by her hip and warned said accused that if he got closer, she was going to hurt him.”

Ozuna’s wife’s then reportedly attempted to retrieve her phones once more, but failed.

“Accused then brought his hand down and punched her in the back of the hands with the cellphones (that he held in his right hand),” according to the affidavit.

“Accused then pushed his left hand and forearm (which was in a hard cast) against victim’s face pushing her back and mushing her in the face with it several times.”

Things only got worse from there.

“Victim stated that said accused grabbed her by her throat by wrapping his fingers around,” an investigator wrote in an arrest affidavit. “He then held her up against the wall, preventing her from breathing.”

The alleged assault is said to have ended as soon as police arrived.

It remains to be seen how Ozuna’s team and, ultimately, Major League Baseball, respond to this incident.

The Braves placed Ozuna on the injured list a few days ago with two broken fingers from a wayward slide. The 9-year veteran recently re-signed with Atlanta after a 2020 season in which he finished sixth in National League MVP voting.

The MLB will almost certainly place Ozuna on the restricted list over this incident. From there, time will tell on how things will advance.

Juan Soto's ISO is 0.119. Only 25 qualified hitters have hit for less power.

Like Vlad he also has a fairly high ground ball rate.

Could be he (and Vlad) are the next level down from Ted Williams/1990s Frank Thomas and while they will look that good for a couple of months at a time, they will also sometimes go a few weeks with 2 homers and a bunch of double plays.

Is it possible to be 1990s Frank Thomas with a 50% ground ball rate?

Lol these olympic teams are kind of a joke

They can't use 40 man roster players and can only use minor league players with permission from the parent team. So I'm not sure what you would expect

DR team for the Olympic qualifiers is basically the 2013 Blue Jays.

PPwRroE.png

Francisco should be playing 3B, Edwin should be the DH, and Jose Reyes should be misplaying balls at short.

Go full 2013-2014 Blue Jays or go home.
