Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Did anyone else not realize that Mark Canha is kind of an elite hitter? 135 wRC+ since 2018. 10th highest wRC+ in the MLB since 2019.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 135 wRC+ since 2018. 10th highest wRC+ in the MLB since 2019. I think it feels different this year because he’s not being used in a platoon and is still producing at the same level.

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Sounds like Joe West is retiring at the end of the season. Seems like the perfect time to introduce robo-umps. End of a (s*****) era.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Meh, seems like he's just ramping up. I wouldn't be that concerned, he's probably just feeling out his arm.

BTS Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Francisco Lindor through 41 games: .185/.294/.272 .565 OPS 21st percentile Barrel% Big yikes. Imagine being a Mets fan. You're all excited in the offseason because Steve Cohen bought he team. It's a new era! Fast forward a few months: - Your new GM is fired for sexual harassment. - Francisco Lindor milks about 130M more from the team than he should have been able to, and looks like absolute dogshit through two months. - The team inexplicably gives 40M to James McCann, who has been sub-replacement level. - Carlos Carrasco, acquired in the Lindor trade, still hasn't played a game. - Syndergaard leaves his rehab start early with elbow pain. - Conforto, Alonso, and McNeil have all played like s***.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Lindor has actually been s*** going back to the beginning of last season: AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ .230 .318 .359 .298 88 You can basically throw out the power numbers of all the dudes who spontaneously hit 30+ HR in the 2017-2019 juiced ball era.

So nice to be vindicated after all these years
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Kevin Pillar two black eyes... Oh that's another good one for the list. Kevin Pillar has hit 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th multiple times this year.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I'm kind of glad we traded Noah Syndergaard.
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 (edited) Lindor has actually been s*** going back to the beginning of last season: AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ .230 .318 .359 .298 88 You can basically throw out the power numbers of all the dudes who spontaneously hit 30+ HR in the 2017-2019 juiced ball era. It's kind of crazy. DJ LeMahieu is back to a .087 ISO guy. Gleyber Torres has a sub .100 ISO. The new ball basically ended Elvis Andrus career. The wRC+ leaderboard is full of slap hitters who used to hit 20-30 home runs but are running sub .100 ISOs now. David Fletcher is f***ing trash now. Dom Smith is trash now. It's completely fair to say that the fringe power guys who were boosted by the juiced ball, had an UNO reverse card pulled on them and are running .050 ISOs instead of .200. Really don't understand how there isn't more outrage over this. Millions of dollars are at stake and Manfred, as I believe BTS said, is treating the game like MLB The Show sliders. I dunno. Maybe I'm wrong and it's just that those guys were meant to suck this year. There are some non-power guys who are still having ok ISO years. It seems like more doubles power than home run power though. Like Adam Frazier. Edited May 26, 2021 by King
