Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 John Means left after 2/3 of an inning, yikes. Sucks for him, he's been pretty dominant.

JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Anyone see that little three horse AL east race animation during the Sox/Yanks game? Yanks are in the race with their putrid offense but not the Jays? Idiots

When springer is in the lineup we should have the best offence in the division.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Jake deGrom is unfazed by the crackdown on foreign substances.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Jake deGrom is unfazed by the crackdown on foreign substances. Pure filth.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Pure filth. He's just unbelievable. I've never seen a pitcher dominate like he has this season.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Just noticed that the Mets currently have 8 former bluejays on their active roster: Marcus Stroman Tijuan Walker Aaron Loup Miguel Castro Brandon Drury Billy mcKinney Jonathan Villar Kevin Pillar

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 What about SRF He said active roster.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Ya and now we are ahead of the yanks but look beyond us. When springer is in the lineup we should have the best offence in the division. We also get to play a bunch of games against the O's soon...
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Wow we might play 7 games against Baltimore in 10 days and not face Means once if his IL stint is any longer
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 I just saw on Twitter that deGrom's k/9 is higher than his pitches per inning. He's also the only pitcher ever to give up 1 ER or fewer in his first 9 starts of the season. If he stays healthy we might be witnessing the best pitching season of all-time.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Jesse Winker is unconscious. Same with Castellanos. Winker's been nuts today, love it.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 People who laugh at Bauer in this spin saga have just completely lost the plot Have they? Going from would-be whistleblower to the foremost culprit of substance tampering is a bit of a tough look. He’s no more guilty than Verlander, Cole, etc, but he had the bad sense to turn himself into a hypocrite, and he’s already a colossal douche.

He did it to prove a point and got rich in the process. He will win twice over if they now try to police it. Just a total Chad. A man among boys. The King.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 People who laugh at Bauer in this spin saga have just completely lost the plot I'm glad he did, and got paid using it. The commissioner's made the league a laughing stock to educated fans and casuals a like.

He’s no more guilty than Verlander, Cole, etc, but he had the bad sense to turn himself into a hypocrite, and he’s already a colossal douche. That’s... not what happened at all. He blew the whistle on the entire thing, and then started using substance just to prove a point and bring it all to light. I hate the guy, but he is definitely responsible for the recent crackdown on substances. And that’s a positive IMO.
King Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Yeah Bauer is taking a massive W here. He may be a massive tool but he's not an idiot.
King Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 I think Bauer's new spin rate is still higher than his early career. So he switched from the A+ goop to the regular goop while other pitchers might go straight nothing. I would buy that he stopped using it completely. MLB is trying to make him the scape goat. I think he knows they'll be watching him more closely than any other player.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 Yeah, Bauer is actually helping baseball here. He wanted MLB to police it, they didn’t, so he proved a point and got the highest aav ever in the process. Guys like Cole are much bigger heels in this saga.
