I wouldn't totally oppose that. Is there any way they could flip Fraizer for a pitching prospect?

Almost certainly. I think Frazier is being drastically undervalued around here.

If the Jays make that deal (hope they don't), I'd look to flip both of them.

Tell me a deal Cashman has made that worked out for the other team. Goddamn he took Paxton off of Seatle and gave them s***. Stay away from him.

Go to AA, Braves have a couple of good pitching prospect in their top 100

That article weirdly treats Giles like he's kinda a throw-in to the trade? I emphatically dislike that proposed trade.

Caleb Smith and Garrett Cooper for Michael King is a bad one, as is Taylor Widener for Brandon Drury.

No interest at all in Andujar for Stroman or Giles. He's a 1B who's projected to be a league-average bat.

Wow. No idea his defense was that bad. Yeah, hard pass.

Yeah, the article was "Frazier isn't enough for Stroman, so toss in Giles and Andujar to even it out". I'd be pretty pissed with Andujar as the return for Giles 1 for 1, frankly.

Was there some hub bub out in the ‘pen? Seemed like all the guys were looking inside at something... phone call re: traded reliever?

Yup if he goes to Houston he will become a legit ace within 2 weeks.

I fully expect him to step up and dominant down the stretch for any team he goes to. He is a big game player and it's pretty common to see players step up when going from a bottom feeder to a contender.

I'll put it out there that I love Stro even with the BS. Was great to have him for so many years. I hope we get a haul for him tho

Frazier's defense isn't so hot either...if we trade Stroman for Frazier, that will not make me happy.

Stroman for Frazier would be horrendous, but if we trade with the Yankees, that's going to be the piece coming back. Cashman has plotted this for months. Whoever he gets, Frazier is going the other way. Hope it's not Stroman, unless he is willing to attach Deivi (he won't).

Is there any indication that Mark Shapiro participates and or approves major transactions such as these ? Or is it all Atkins with 100 percent control

We don't use the term Shatkins for nothing. Of course Shapiro will have input and the final say.

Nope

All I want from the trade deadline is pitching. There is so little of it in the organization that they need to turn Stroman and Giles in to 3-4 top pitching prospects.

We just need good prospects period. I'm fine with us buying pitching and developing bats, if that's how we get the best talent.

3 or 4 quality pitching prospects that turn into one or two quality pitchers? Maybe we should just extend the known commodities. It would be one thing if we were carrying a ton of bad contracts and didn't have money to spend, but we have a boat load of money to spend.

I have always wanted to extend Stro.

My fear in signing a player to a big, fat contract is complacency. The player stops really trying and just takes the money and runs.

With Stroman, I can't see that ever being an issue. He will always find ways to try 100% and improve, even when his velo fades. He's a guy who can always re-invent himself and perform at a high level for many, many years. I don't want to trade that for uncertainty.

You never know about that stuff man. We also though Bautista would age like Ortiz and Cruz and then he fell off a cliff.
