Hopefully we can ship out other relievers for lotto tickets, so we will probably need Giles this year. Great way to fill a void after the TD and recoup value when there is no pressure to win.

Osuna skills weren’t worth trading, but it’s hard to truly cheer for him after the DV case.

Rather a cheater then a beater any day of the week

Paulino and Giles good but I'm not confident Perez will ever figure out his delivery to throw consistent strikes.

Osuna is going to face a shitload of immediate scrutiny but after that he comes out smelling like roses. A new start with the best team in baseball backing him.

I was able to pick him up from the scrap heap in my fantasy league during the final week of his suspension. And now that hes not closing for a s***** Blue Jays team he became a dream asset closing for a team that will win s*** loads of games down the stretch. FeelsGoodMan

Just wondering when Giles gets flipped for a team's failed #10+ prospect next year if we will still all say it's a great trade?

Just waiting for Rob Manfred to f*** up and award Montreal a MLB franchise again.

What a f***ing disaster.. ugh.

How so? Now that we've seen the ++, the return is great.

Love this trade!

I thought we might have dropped Osuna for nothing and I wouldn’t have been upset if we did.

I’m not sure how I could have cheered for Osuna going forward.

Plus he can help all the maggots border jumping assimilate into the Houston community.

Could you imagine what the Blue Jays could have got at last years deadline. The Jays were likely asking for one of Forrest Whitley or Kyle Tucker.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hector Rondon remains the closer, at least this year.

I think you're pushing it a bit. Yes Osuna definitely had higher value, but those guys are probably close to untouchable for the Astros.

So we traded for Jeremy Jeffries...

f*** it, I'll give you the reaction you appear to be begging for (all while spelling the f***ing guys name wrong). Jeremy Jeffress the top 30 reliever in the majors right now would be a great comp for him and a very good outcome for this guy

I have a feeling Giles is going to make me punch myself in the Face.. I don't like that fact we are getting a guy who buckled in the playoffs and is so "Elite" he is in the the minors and the team gave the closer role to someone else.. I know he is not the crux of the deal... I just wouldn't say "Elite" closer anymore..

Why does everyone want to dump Giles? Most pro athletes are head cases. Kinda part of the game.

It's not because he's a headcase, most of us don't really care about that because he's elite. The reason some are suggesting moving him is because he's a high end closer, the Jays are not contending right now which means they'd be wasting him, and we could probably get excellent value out of him in a trade.

that's a real classy response..

I like this trade a lot better than the Happ trade.

so no chance of competing in the next 2 years?

8 yrs later after how many DFAs and teams.. I was being somewhat factitious, but, there are lots of guys who can throw hard, have great stuff but can't pitch worth a s***.

In 8 yrs Vlad Jr will be a fat Prince Fielder doppelganger probably limited to DH and just signed with an LA team. :D

If there isn't a blue chip prospect in this deal, then we are seeing an unimaginably high level of stupidity from Shapiro and Atkins. Elite relievers have garnered similarly elite prospects like Clint Frazier and Gleyber Torres recently.

Did you miss the part where we are getting a similarly skilled reliever back?

Tbh Perez is probably a future Giles, relievers like him are valuable but all it takes is one guy with crazy stuff figuring out how to command their stuff for an inning at a time. Giles could command a valuable position player or MLB pitcher who could help us if the team is competitive in the next couple of seasons.

You respect people who feel they're entitled to live wherever they want?

Can he not be part of the solution? The new young guys are going to have to win a few games to have some degree of confidence.

Holy f***, this is actual trape.

While I don't think this trade could have gone down any better, this is why I hate Houston's success. They make so many stupid trades.
